Just wondering why did McCain walk out today when
Inhofe(sp)was speaking as reported by CNN? Was he incensed or did he leave to go vote since I heard something from the Senators saying they needed time to go vote.

He admited on Larry King tonight, he's old, had to go P.
Larry asked him about that. His response was, when you get to be my age, you have to go the the mens room more often. He said he disagreed with Inhofe's comments, and was back in the meeting before Inhofe finished his "story".

3. He responded to Inhofe in the afternoon session
I missed the "shrinking bladder" explanation. I just assumed McCain had left to vote, as (according to the radio broadcast anyway) some of the senators left the hearing intermittently for a vote.

In the afternoon session, though, I thought McCain did a fine job of blasting Inhofe by asking the officers who were testifying if they really thought the U.S. should adhere to the Geneva Convention (yeses all around) and whether they thought the Red Cross and the other humanitarians Inhofe was so "outraged" at should actually be inspecting prisons like Abu Grahib (again, they all agreed that the Red Cross should). Then McCain said he agreed, and his point was that it's important to get to the bottom of these issues and it's dangerous to dismiss people who raise these issues, inspect the prisons, etc. as "humanitarian do-gooders." It seemed to me to be an obvious blast at Inhofe.

As an Oklahoman, I'm used to being embarrassed by my congressional delegation, but Inhofe's stupidity today was a new low ...

1. inhofe
made comments that he was outraged there was an outrage over the prison abuses. he said the "humanitarian do-gooders" that are there now are more outrageous than the torture.
