4. It may not be the first.
The events featured in those disgusting photos actually took place some months ago. They & others not yet publicized were known by some Americans. Surely they were known by some Iraqis.

The deaths of the Fallujah Four could have been "revenge"--especially since civilian "contractors" have been involved in the prison abuses.

Our revenge invoved killing about 700 residents of Fallujah.

7. i'm sure it's been going on for years, but this is for Abu Ghraib prison
is the only diff, an official announcement, by the killers, before they killed him. i'm sure the revenge for abu ghraib has been going on for months. revenging nazi torturers but we kill them for it, and call them insurgents

5. bu$h needs to strut some more!
I think another statement like "bring 'em on" would be just the thing to strike the FEAR of GAWD-uh into these HEATHEN SAVAGES of the DESERT-uh.

Yeah, that's the ticket. bu$h needs to REALLY get tough with these fuckers now. That'll show 'em. Just like it did the first time.

owe him a debt of gratitude....:puke:

6. oh god...his poor parents
I really believe that people who are capable of these things would do them anyway, but I HATE that we have handed them ANY justification for their depravity.

So, do you think any asshole senators from OK are outraged by their outrage? What a jerk.

8. Due to the loss of "moral authority", perceived or otherwise...
the bush cabal can feign outrage all they like and it will have no effect. It will be up to the rest of the world to express real outrage for both the US actions in Iraq and those who did the beheading.

10. If this is true, then I think that this is just the beginning
of more to come. I don't believe they will stop at just this one act of revenge. We need to pull out of Iraq now before there are any more deaths because of this inane war.

11. How are Chimpy and Inhofe helping?
Chimpy gives Rumsfeld a little tribute.

Inhofe says he's only outraged by the outrage.

Usually these people make noises about "troops in harm's way" as a reason why we should shut up. How are they helping the "troops in harm's way" now, with what they're saying?!

13. i'm waiting for the rhetoric
that is sure to come. that these heinous acts are because the "liberal media" released the torture pictures. mark my words, it's coming. they will never own up to the fact that the illegal invasion and the tone set by the white house is the cause of every single atrocity that has taken place to date.

i feel like i am in the twilight zone these days. immediately after viewing the latest batch of torture pics, junior, in his signature herky-jerky bumble headed way, makes a statement to the press that rummy is the bestest guy ever and the nation owes him a debt of gratitude. does he really not get it that the timing of that was insane?

and then pickles on gma this morning saying that we freed the little iraqi girls from the taliban and now they can go to school. christ on a crutch! even freepers have a better overview of current events than the 1st lady of the u.s.?

if they want to make the election theft this novemeber plausible, they really should keep these two idiot-bots off camera.

15. So sad. :( the cycle of violence. And...
Edited on Tue May-11-04 01:07 PM by dawn
not to sound selfish, but I am worried because my parents will be in Cairo soon. On a tour, on a BUS, with a bunch of other Americans from their church. I think this is a bad idea. See, my dad is Sicilian, so he can easily pass for an Egyptian (has been mistaken for one, as well as a Greek or a Syrian). If they went with just a few friends, or a very small group, I wouldn't be as worried. My mom could cover her head and walk with my dad, and no one would bat an eye. (Ok, she is really pale, but still.)

I am afraid for them, like they will be riding on a big bus with a bulls eye on it. :(
