It's Official! Diebold in Ohio - Will "deliver votes" for Bush
http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/6646063.htm?1c

Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc., told Republicans in an Aug. 14 fund-raising letter that he is ``committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year.''

The Controlling Board of Ohio yesterday approved a request from the Ohio Secretary of State to provide federal funds from the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) to 31 selected counties in Ohio, enabling voters to experience the benefits of touch-screen voting this November. Diebold Election Systems has been selected by 20 of those counties to serve more than 1.4 million voters.

Hope Kerry's margin is greater than 1.4 million....a few clicks and it's in the bag for Bush*.

6. What does Ohio law say about the conduct of recounts?
Could Liebold machines be in non compliance with the law?

10. Yes, They May be Noncompliant
You cannot recount a touch screen machine UNLESS it provides a voter verified paper ballot.

Ohio could have gone with Accupoll, Avante, TruVote, or Vogue, but the only machines counties seemed allowed to bid on were the paperless ones.

Most state laws have recount provisions and these machines violate those laws.

Glenda Hood tried to get that law changed in Florida so that DRE's would not have to be recounted, and she failed. Instead, her next move was to try and mandate that absentee ballot counting did not have to be witnessed.

Look in the law for "separate ballot" and "recounts/canvassing."

There probably still is a law that may state MANUAL recount.

Then yes, people in Ohio will have to go to court. DRE's without paper ballots violate voting rights.

And they do not violate rights of the disabled if they have voter verified paper ballots, as decided by the DOJ. As/per the DOJ, they are in compliance with requirements for the disabled voter in both the HAVA Act and the American Disabilities Act.

DRE's WITH voter verified paper ballots are in compliance.

Go get'em now!

7. No recounts ~ Remember Bush* Trusts only machines not the people"
Remember his argument against recounts in Florida was people can not be trusted as they are subjective. Only machines can be trusted as they are objective. This coming immediately after running on a platform of "I Trust the People"

4. Are they just buying those f*ck-up machines NOW?
"experience the benefits of touch-screen voting"

Aww, this is going to be ugly.

The Democratic Party better be out in force at every single polling place in those counties. Exit polling especially. Call the colleges. You need all the help you can get.

11. **Paging Dennis Kucinich**
Will the "Kooch" allow this theft in his home state? For that matter, will Kerry address the issue?

Hell, bust Jim Traficant out of prison. He's a wack job for sure, but I doubt he's on Diebold's side. He and his bad rug are always good for media attention.
