Is this a Nazi viability test?
Edited on Mon May-10-04 02:42 PM by info being
Let's face it, if the torture scandal isn't enough to turn this country clearly against the Neocons...nothing is. Perhaps this is some kind of litmus test to determine whether the public will accept even more blatant Nazi policy.

I firmly believe that a very large percentage of Americans are as scary and dangerous as Nazis and their sympathizers during WWII. In 2004, we have every opportunity to know better...to examine history...to take initiative and get accurate information...and yet a very large portion of this population seems smugly content with these Nazi criminals in charge.

I would say "God help us" but the only help we can call upon has to come from within.

The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars but in ourselves

2. Be Careful In What God....
you invoke! Is it the same god that told Bu$h*t that he is to be resident, and the same god that said he should attack Iraq? Or the same god, that told that poor Texas woman to drown her 3-children!?

4. Will the shocking images be enough?
Enough to shatter the cognitive dissonance? It is getting harder and harder, I would think, to live in the bubble of denial. The new images are even worse -- if people see them and don't rise up in utter revulsion and demand the head of someone up high, then we must be truly lost.

5. too many Americans are still marching in lockstep to bush* and his
POW sex-torture operation: murders, sex-torture, sodomizing young boys, rape, extortion, and more....yet, bush* appoints KILLER negroponte, demands another $25 MILLION of OUR money to support this torture, signs another $600 Million dollars for the mercenaries commanding OUR soldiers to tortue POWs, and commends rumsfeld for a very good job....

say NO, America....say NO to bush*...please America, say NO

6. Here's the false PR bullet point:
Edited on Mon May-10-04 03:55 PM by teryang
"It's an isolated case that only involves a handful of soldiers."

It isn't isolated, it's systemic. Beyond being systemic, it is the result of a deliberately adopted policy by the Executive Office, the CIA and the Pentagon to circumvent and render inoperative the Geneva Conventions.

It doesn't involve just a handful of soldiers. It involves a larger number of soldiers, it involves officers, it involves commanders, it involves civilian contractors, it involves the intelligence agencies, and it involves the civilian leadership, at the secretary level, and it involves the Executive Office. The latter should be impeached.

If you listen to television you've heard the bullet point scores of times already. In fact, you'll hear it pronounced by some VIP, alleged "expert," politician, reporter or opinion maker, every single time the story is brought up and it is completely false.

8. Time for the Democrats to claim to be the Party of moral values
We are going to have to lay it out. We are against brutal and senseless killings and torture...we are against un-needed human suffering. We are against the destruction of our world. We are against the erosian of civil rights and the values this country was founded on.

Time to restore decency to the white house. Don't be fooled twice.

9. nothing is going to happen
at least, not right away. i was just thinking about composing an essay on this topic. along the lines of "the world reacts to (sexual) torture with the correct amount of horror, americans are (often not so secretly) titillated by it."

even here- look at the number of threads on the topic. no slight to any DUer, just an observation. i'm sure 000s of equally important developments are happening, but our attention stays focused on sex and horror.

the darkest nightmare of tin-foil dreaming has just begun. that is, even if our fellow murkins don't get it, the rest of the world does. we ARE the new nazi nation, we DO threaten the rest of the world's long term interests, and we ARE out of control.

by that i mean that 'we the people' no longer have any power with respect to our gov't and military. a cabal, numbering in the 000s, foists its policies on the rest of us at our expense, and controls us with a blatantly unfair form of 'capitalism' while we are pacified with a steady stream of propaganda. oh, and sex. sex, sex, sex...it's all america's media can show us.

but in the rest of the world there are things like national education (which rests on facts and not religion), real leadership, and meaningful policy debate. just like in WWII, there are some appeasers and mealy mouthed toadies (blair) who will go along 'cause they know there's a fat paycheck at carlyle waiting for them. but they are in a minority, and those opposing US imperialism are becoming stronger.

but americans, blinded by their media and too fat and self-concerned to care, know nothing of this (present company excluded). worse, THEY DON'T WANT TO KNOW. this is why we are seeing the support expressed by bush's morAns. coming from conservative backgrounds and histories, they are well aware of what kinds of "policies" bush and his ilk favor. bush supporters are the same as those who thought such tactics appropriate against civil rights activists and antiwar demonstrators during vietnam.

americans JUST LOVE violence, sex and death. by any measure we can imagine, these are our nation's favorite subjects.

f*ck it- i'll just say what i'm really thinking. bush is going to steal the election with the machines, continue to invade and spread terror around the globe, and sooner or later, the US will be invaded.

as of this week, i officially know exactly what it felt like to be a german in the prewar years.

10. I thought I'd bump for your post
Very wells said. I think there's a CHANCE this could be turned around without WWIII, but it doesn't look likely at this point.

11. Possibly.
I don't think it was planned and orchestrated or anything, but now that it's happened...

...let's just say the Busheviks are watching with interest.
