Seymour Hersh on MSNBC Just Now: Interesting Details on the Torture
Edited on Mon May-10-04 02:15 PM by JCMach1
This is a picture one of a series that columnist Seymour Hersh described on MSNBC as depicting the systematic use of attack dogs as a torture weapon. This is the middle of a series of pictures that ends with the person pictured lying on the ground bleeding profusely from deep dog bites...

Hersh also mentioned that the posed pictures were part of the 'softening-up process.' They would threaten prisoners with showing the images to family and friends...

ON EDIT: Hersh also pointed out that these are troops from a DIFFERENT unit than the first. Right here, there is evidence that we are talking about widespread abuse. Hundreds of abusers... not a handful.

:grr:

Top that off with chimp giving Rumsferatu a thumbs up.... and I am beyond anger.

1. If this doesn't just "blow over" like Bush hopes...
...this endorsement of Rummy might be the straw that breaks his back.

13. Nothing could be uglier except to see photos of Bush, Cheney, Rummy
naked in front of attack dogs. Which one would be shoved to the front by the other two?

2. I hope that Seymour has the videos too...
because the ones that defense dept have will go down the rabbit hole.. i heard this am that they are contemplating "letting" congress view them (and the other photos) behind a secure viewing area..(no hands on)..

They know that if a dem congressman or senator got their hands on them, they "might" get leaked..and they plan to classify them..

i wonder if the british parliament or news people have copies of them too..

as horrible as they ,may be, they MUST be made public..

deciding what to do with them I suspect.

Remember the conversaion last night
I have confidence that Bush will bungle this to the point that
they are already wishing this was a minor sexual trist and a blue
stain on a dress... this is the real scandal, the real item...

And Bush is doing all he can to slam all doors that could pre-empt
calls from the world community

See above the coaliton is geting even closer to falling appart...
something about war crimes and they may be liable... too

And NATO has said thannsk for the memories, we will talk to you until after the November election, then we may consider helping, but don't call us until then ok.

The Red Cross report is ahem damming

The Press Corp actually asked some hard questions today... like when did the President know it and what exactly does he know, and yes McClellan spinned like a pro... when the press starts to show backbone you know they are in trouble, they are starting to.... oh and of course we still had the soft ball pitchers carrying their water, but less and less of them.

The beauty of this is... Bush did not realize that he was adding to the storm, hell I wonder if he will ever notice

Free clue, when you are in a hall you do not reach for the backhoe, he did...

And yes, they are whistling past a graveyard...

11. And here is the the point
One of the reportes asked McClellan... if the Presnit was
concerned about the election? The boy spinned nicely... but
this is exaclty what they are concerend about...

They are not concerned about the country, and when a reporter asks the question, you know they are on shaky grounds... sad that it takes this.

14. Unclassified vs Classified

The pentagon reporter also said 95 percent (or more) of the Taguba report was
unclassified, yet the entire report was classified as part of the attempted cover up.

He said each paragraph has a "U" or a "C" next to it, and that 95 percent of it was labeled
with a "U" for unclassified next to it.

I would like to know who ordered the report classified when 95 percent of it is unclassified,
and why they classified a report that was labeled unclassified.

20. Yep...there's MANY people
involved, and the higher up's are trying to use these people for scapegoats...the orders came from above. We can't let this be swept under the rug as they're trying to do because it leads to the TOP..

22. Court Martial Those Dogs
After an extensive investigation conducted by the White House, administration officials pointed out that charges will be filed in the next week or two against the canines responsible for the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners ... concerns that orders for the bitings went further up the chain of command could not be confirmed ...

"We really pulled out all the stops on this one" said a smiling Don Rumsfeld, "but it's clear to us that a handful of overzealous, but well meaning canines, acted on their own."
