Attention Oklahomans: A Call To Action Opposing Tort Reform
Please follow this link to my post on the Oklahoma state DU forum for instructions and a sample form letter to contact the governor, your representative and senator, and urge them to oppose the proposed tort reform in Oklahoma.

Thanks.

1. Tell them your neighbors to the south have yet to see malpractice decrease
In fact, premiums went up!

Tort reform is class warefare at it's finest. Work hard to sto it - don't believe the crap they spew about making medicine cheaper - it's all a bunch of garbage. This is about insurance companies and their profits!

2. Agreed! It is totally corrupt.
The proposed reform in Oklahoma puts a $250,000 cap on actual damages in all negligence cases! That means if you end up a paraplegic or an amputee due to the negligence of any doctor or corporation, you'll be lucky to pay your initial medical bills and attorney fee IF you succeed in court. Then, YOU'RE FUCKED FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. x(

4. Fight it
The insurance companies SO suckered our doctors here. Called them up and told them that they were "pulling out of Texas" if tort reform didn't pass last year. Bear in mind that we had already had one big tort reform push in the early 1990s, but that wasn't enough for the corporate whoredogs (forgive my insult to whores and dogs).

And did the doctors' malpractice premiums go down? Just guess.

Get the vote out. We got tort reform by about a 2% margin.
