It really doesn't matter whether Rummy goes or not.
The scandal will live or die depending on what more keeps coming out, and whether the media keep people's attention on it. Rummy's resignation or retention won't make a whit of difference in what the press does. Their motivations are elsewhere, their orders come from the corporate gods, and they will bring Bush down or not depending on their orders. Rumsfeld is irrelevant, his fate is just one more choreographed step in the master plan, and the master plan itself is based on what the gods see as in their best interest.

1. They might be less coordinated than you think, JR.
For a long time, I kept thinking that no matter what happened, it was exactly the way "it was supposed to happen". Problem? Yeah, that was in the plan. It's like they had a fool-proof plan for their conquest of the world, or whatever they had in mind.

Today, I don't think so. There MIGHT be a "shadow government" behind these asses who are outdoing each other in terms of stupidity.

But consider, who would hire these clowns? They're no smarter. Whoever they are, they're idiots. And I still believe in the old saying "Arrogance is the death of wisdom". It's an old saying I made up myself.

2. That kinda reminds me of an old saying of my own.
"Of course God created the Universe. Too bad She's not very bright."

It's not that I see the Powers as omniscient, but when things go this badly off course they have a decision to make: Keep Bush around or replace him & cut their losses.

In the case of Bush 1, I knew he was a goner once the press kept showing that clip of him at the Japanese state dinner, picking himself off the floor after puking on the dignitary nest to him. For about a month, you couldn't get away from that clip.

At this point I think the Powers may have grown tired of hs little war and his failure to bring the whole project in under budget, so they're pulling the plug. Maybe that's why all the torture stories are coming out now.

3. You're right. I didn't think of that.
Interesting. It will be very interesting to watch what happens, especially over the next few weeks.
