Poll question: Is bush about to order an invasion of Cuba?
Somehow, there's been a lot of extra sabre rattling towards Cuba in the last month or so -- ever since the coup in Haiti. First, Honduras launches a "human rights" offensive in the UN (like Honduras should be bragging about its human rights record...). Next, Mexico kicks out the Cuban ambassador. Now bush is talking about "bringing freedom to Cuba", and there are suddenly numerous stories in mass media circulation concerning Cuba's various "offenses".

Somehow, this seems familiar. Are we about to see another "humanitarian" intervention in Cuba?

1. I wouldn't put it past them.
If they somehow remain in power after November it wouldn't surprise me. It'll be a cakewalk, the Cubans will throw flowers, we'll be greeted as heroes, liberation, Castro and Al Queda...........

5. Of course! We all know Castro is an Islamic extremist harboring Al Qaeda
Heck, have you ever seen Osama and Castro in the same room together? No? They might just be the same person! I mean, look at the BEARDS, dammit! Talk about "separated at birth"...

80% of Fox News viewers think Castro planned the 9/11 attacks!

2. Did I miss the news about newly found oil in Cuba?
Perhaps they invade Saudi Arabia within the next two years, in order to stabilize the country which would be near chaos due to many disastrous terror attacks (the first of which we already witnessed)?

4. I say Yes because all the steps lead to it...
I saw the 3 Florida cuban republican representatives...the ones on TV all the time during the Elian Gonzalez mess, they were on TV thanking bush for his undertake to remove Castro. Either bush will do it soon or he's just bluffing so that he can get the cuban vote. bush did not do what he promised the cubans when he stole the elections; to remove castro.

Pure and simple, Gore won Florida withoput the cuban vote. The bushies are worried about Florida, and he must be really worried about the Florida Cuban vote which he needs.

7. If the Cuban exiles in Florida want to go I won't stop them
If they want their war with Castro they can have it as long as they are willing to fight it. As an added bonus, it would probably remove tens of thousands of registered Republicans from the rolls in Florida.

9. Spoken Like a True Conservative
Sorry, but they say that all the time about people who complain about Bush.
"If you don't like it here, move". They can point towards many movie stars (and liberals) who hate Bush and threaten to move to France. Any time they show their face, they can be heckled, "When are you moving?" or "What are you still doing here?"

People, we want those Cuban expatriates on OUR side, not Bush's. Talking like that will not help.

8. I predict no invasion.
I think they are planning more of an eastern Europe/Cold War sort of plan. They'll try to put pressure on Cuba until it pops from the inside.

10. That's What Has Been Happening Since Kennedy.
Bush knows better and will leave Fidel alone. Really.
Every time somebody criticizes his Patriot Act, all he has to do is point his (Middle) finger towards Cuba and most people know that Castro’s human rights abuses make Our Bush Leaguer look, well, like a Bush Leaguer.

When was the last time Castro permitted Free Elections? When was the last time Cuban’s at least a choice who was going to fleece them? How many Cubans have died trying to reach America’s (and Bush’s, for that matter) soil? When you get down to it, many Cubans would rather die trying to reach America with Bush as President than live under Cuba and Castro. And they have.
It just makes more sense for America to keep Castro around as a boogie man. Remember the stink Oliver Stone had a while back when he did that documentary that showed Castro in a good light, just after a couple of firing squads shot a few people who disagreed with Fidel?
“If you don’t like living in America, try living in Cuba.”
It just isn’t going to happen.

How many Haitians have tried to reach America's soil, ONLY TO BE TURNED BACK ONCE HERE? How many Mexicans have nearly died locked in the back of semi trailers, just to get a job?

Did you know that Cubans get full US citizenship priveleges when they get here illegally? No shit, man, if they so much as set foot on our shores without a visa, they get to stay. Cuba's just as poor as any other Carribean country -- poorer than many, thanks to the embargo -- and it's no surprise people try to get to El Norte. Betcha if we gave that kind of bonus to any other Carribean nationality, they'd be on their way in spades.

"You and who's army?"
We used to say that when I was a kid.

I say the same thing about this: Who's army is Bush going to use to invade Cuba? We're fresh out...
