It's not about the next election. It's not about Democrats or Republicans. It's about what kind of moral conscience do we hope to have as a nation. Abuse or torture, it doesn't matter in the eyes of many Americans. We want our nation to stand for more than what Saddam Hussein stands for. We do want people to be respected. When we go to war, we want to know it is a moral cause. Even in war, we do not sacrifice our principles in the name of "freedom or liberty". It is by example that we want to lead. It is unacceptable not to hold responsible those that have sullied the good names of all Americans.

I have heard the expression "one picture is worth 1,000 words", but I never knew its meaning until I saw the photos from the prison in Baghdad. My co-worker thoughth they were staged (she knows they weren't now).
