2. Isn't it amazing. These people are clueless.
Hersh very explicit report the CIA people and private contractors are directly and indirectly reponsible for what went on in the prison.

Hersh: few bad apples: what else could the army say. It is not going to hold up. It is systemic throughout the system.

3. Hersh: The female general to say it is not my fault not very
good for a person at that level, but it is true she was not in direct charge of interrogation.

7. Tweety: 4 Defenses and "I'm on their side" (families of guards)
Tweets sez "no training".

HERSCH: not an excuse/defense. "They had no idea who was good or who was bad. Most were civilians picked up in routine (raids)."

5. Tweety cannot be that incredulous
He said he can't understand how Muslim's were shamed? If he really wonders that, then he's a bigger idiot than I thought. If not, he's a piece of shit. I'm guessing it's the latter.

8. Tweety mentioning the wife of one of the accused soldiers who
Edited on Tue May-04-04 06:19 PM by LittleApple81
was on his program yesterday. They only followed orders.
Hersh that defense won't hold water; it might be mitigating but not exculpating.
The army is locus parenti (very young soldiers).
The people were not prisoners of war, they were civilian detainees picked up on routine rounds. Soldiers didn't know the difference, and breaking down people who had nothing to do with terror, attacks, etc.

They had a women/juveniles section.

Last fall they already knew about problems and Sanchez knew.

13. How were they shamed?
Is Tweety serious? Has he read the Taguba report? I'd say that being sodomized with a chemical light and perhaps a broomstick is pretty humiliating, not to mention brutal, cruel, torture and a few other things prohibited by the Geneva Conventions.

But if Tweety doesn't think that's all that humiliating, I don't suppose he'd mind submitting to those actions on his show for the amusement and bemusement of his audience?

17. Tweety Just Gave His Fantasy Version of What It's Like in the Military
Besides not letting the old man guest talk, he kept motor-mouthing questions implying answers: "Isn't it the first duty of an enlisted man to refuse to do an illegal order? Shouldn't he say, 'I'm not doing that? What will he get ---ignored?"

Thank Zeus Tweets isn't in charge of anybody. His unreality is staggering. His brownnosing would certainly fit well with the chain of command, but he would be a ball-buster with his ignorant expectations, the kind that might end up fragged.

18. All His Guests Have Told Him the "4 defences" Don't Hold Water
But he keeps repeating them to each new guest (what the families of the accused guards said-----1)It didn't happen, 2) He didn't do it, 3) He wasn't trained, 4) He was desensitized.) Tweets keeps plugging along with his false train of thought, no matter what the guests all tell him.

20. Larry Johnson says * should fire Myers, Abizaid, and Sanchez...
Edited on Tue May-04-04 06:50 PM by VolcanoJen
... immediately. He's a former CIA interregator, and the information he is giving is fascinating.

He says this is absolutely from the top down, and that Generals
Myers, Abizaid and Sanchez should be relieved from duty by President Bush. Unless you go all the way up, he argues, you can't even begin to try Saddam Hussein. Our entire argument is that Hussein is accountable for all the things that people below him did.

Compelling argument... and a fascinating segment. Of course, we all know that Chimpy doesn't have the guts to fire anyone in his lying, corrupt, criminal administration.
