Does anyone else have this fear. I don't beleive that seperating politics from life, that is bullshit. If you are friends with someone whos politics are neo nazi you should be ashamed. Politics is the essence of a human. But anyway, since i would have to be honest that the main source of my stress, is the fucking stupidity of the american people, and the admin, i'm afraid he might be a rethug. I have a brief background in psychology, and would diagnose bush as a narcissistic personality with grandiose delusions. You never know these days since the country is so polarized. I got rid of every lover of war and torture of children aka republican friends and family. I've been critical all my life of the people who associated with hitler supporters in the 20's and 30's as well as every other corrupt regime. So therefore i won't contribute to destruction of this generation by association. Good thing the mailman is a democrat. And all of my fellow novelists are liberals, and agents, so my career shouldn't be thretened.

Do you fear a provider of goods or services is a nutjob?

2. To quote Janeane Garofalo on the Daily Show
at this point, supporting Bush is a character flaw.

4. I live in Republican hell, but most Phd psychologists
are on the liberal side that I know. There is a bevy of them at my Unitarian Church. And, of course, a psychologist would appreciate honesty. When you call.....ask.

5. One caveat
I have to admit that when I see a business advertised as a Christian business, I give them a miss. However, this is more because the people who feel a need to advertise themselves this way are likely to be fundies who have rejected Christianity in favor of Paulism, and have rejected the Golden Rule along with it. You see, Paul said all that was necessary was faith. Christ said it was subordinate to good works. "Give all that you have to the poor and follow me" is pretty clear.

Since I don't want to get cheated, I give the fundies a pass and go for a business that doesn't wear the owner's religious insanity on its Yellow Pages advert.

I would avoid therapists who advertise themselves as Christian therapists, since prayer and a rigid social agenda will probably substitute for real therapy. I would also avoid anybody without a degree. Some states allow anyone to call themselves therapists. Others restrict the term to MSW or M Ph prepared folks.

Good therapists can vote Repuglican. They are good therapists, they are just wrong when it comes to voting. You may have to try more than one to find a therapist you can work with. Oh, and remember, therapy is less about giving you the answers as it is about asking you the right questions.

6. Even a liberal psychologist is probably . . .
going to try to get you to drop some of the anger. It seems to be getting in the way of your happiness.

7. I think you're right.
I'm not going to sweat over my mailman's political orientation (other than trying to win his vote, I mean), but going to a republican psychologist at this point is like going to... there's a funny analogy I'm not quite coming up with. A blind optician? A bald barber? You get the picture.

9. how about a child-hating pediatrician.
I honestly don't see how any shrink can be anything but a non-republican.

Their job is to be compassionate, after all.

My shrink, who I consider to be a genius, is not only a buddhist but a gay buddhist. The man's amazing. (I didn't know he was gay till later).

8. Stop thinking so much
Fear is an illusion, created by the over-thinking mind. To formulate opinion and base life decisions from that perspective, is doing yourself a great disservice.

I remember telling my doctor that I didn't accept Bush as pres
He told me I was dishonest with myself or something like that. I said OK but I still don't accept him as pres and I will never accept him as pres.
