Class
By class I'm referring to economic status, real or imagined. My question is, does a persons perceived economic position influence or even dictate their policy and candidate choices here at DU?

I believe this is so. And I'm afraid that Kucinich suffered for both his origins and populist policies, particularly WTO/NAFTA.

Don't think that I'm out to lunch but opinions will vary.

1. Nah, Kucinich was rocking the boat
Most folks prefer the devil they know, and the policies they can suruvive under, even if somebody else comes along and promises them much better. They're afraid of drastic change, which is why Nader is peeing up a drainpipe.

We're never going to see a true reformer get elected by saying he's a true reformer. The best we can hope for is a business as usual guy who pleasantly surprises us.

The worst is Bush.

2. In a sane world, Kucinich would have more of a voice
He's definitely all about We The People.

I can't say class contributed to my choice of candidate. Howard Dean was my first choice; in fact, I can't bring myself to take the Dean sticker off my car or the sign out of the window of my house. We have Kerry bumper stickers, so I'm getting there. :P

However, I continue to like Kucinich and what he has to offer. I certainly hope he maintains a presence in the party. He has a very important message.

Great question!
