Hardball: Martha Frederick-What the fool motivates people to go on tv?
Here's a guy (Sgt Ivan Fredericks) who was one of the soldier/prison guards involved in this travesty and she has to get on the news and try to defend her husband as "just following orders", not his fault. He wasn't trained on how to treat prisoners or on the Geneva Convention? Tweety asks "Why should people have to be trained not to do it?" Did she just need her 15 minutes of fame THAT BADLY?

I can't relate-think he asked his wife to go on camera to defend him? Or she thought her comments would mitigate the damage?

7. He was a Virginia Corrections officer for six years too.
And he was the NCO relied upon for leadership by the others.

OTOH, he has reported a case of murder involving spooks from military intelligence, intelligence and mercenaries-the National Security criminals who somehow gained control of the prison.

His defense has promised to go after these people-this entire event is getting a lot of GI's killed and wounded--National Security cannot be used as an excuse to hide criminals anymore.

Frederick's crimes are inexcusable but they were directed by murderers that must be prosecuted.

5. There is absolutely no apology that will atone for what those neanderthals
did to those prisoners.

However, I also wonder how many of those reservists wanted to go to GW Bush's war.

I know, they are reservists, and they might be called up, but dammit. It wouldn't have happened if W hadn't needed his goddam war.

Who knows how hardened one's heart becomes after guarding a prison 6000 miles from home in a war you never asked for?

6. They know their son/daughter/husband/wife is in deep s**t.
They are acting out of desperation, I believe. I heard the same story from his parents. I'd like to think that they didn't raise a son who didn't know basic human respect and right from wrong. Not being trained is no damn excuse for what they did.
