On CommonDreams yesterday, I read an interesting article by Thom Hartmann, titled "White House Re-Writes Presidential Histories." This morning, I went back to CommonDreams to get the link, and I couldn't find the article. Thinking that perhaps I had seen it on another site, I revisited all my daily stops but still couldn't find it. As a last resort, I checked in my "history" links and found the link to the article. The direct link to the article still works, but its listing was definitely removed from CommonDreams' main page. Here is the link:
White House Re-Writes Presidential Histories

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0426-09.htmWhen you read the article, you'll notice that it contains links to the White House website. Knowing that the links could alert the White House webmaster to the existence of Thom's article, and seeing that the article is effectively out of circulation today, I was starting to worry that it had been censored. So, I wrote a note to Thom in order to get his take on the situation, and received the following reply:
"I asked them to pull it because I discovered the bio was written during the Clinton administration. Somebody wasn't paying attention, IMHO..."
I must say that I'm relieved, but it's an interesting story nevertheless. What do you think?
