army psychologist defends policy on traumatised soldiers
America’s War - The Hidden Toll
Broadcast: 27/04/2004 ( ABC TV Australia)
Reporter: Jill Colgan
"A year after George W. Bush declared the end of major conflict in Iraq, Americans are soul searching about a war they’re beginning to think will never end.

Washington correspondent Jill Colgan paints a human face on a grisly predicament. She meets the loved ones of those who were sent to Iraq but never returned.
She meets Pat Gunn, the mother of 24 year-old marine Jason.

“These boys thought they’d be looking for weapons of mass destruction, but when they got there they found out they were in Iraq under false pretences” she said."
*****
“Am I concerned that we’re sending soldiers back to combat who have Post Traumatic Stress?” asks Colonel Bruce Crow. “No I’m not concerned we’re sending soldiers into a detrimental situation, detrimental to their mental health”.
