Republican Big Brother tactics to promote heterosexual marriage
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 07:29 PM by Mari333
So much for the f*cking hypocrites who say they dont like Big Government sticking its nose into people's private business!

what a bunch of losers. I would like to think Larry Flynt might have something on this slimeballs and would put it out there asap

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Republicans this week will launch a series of hearings to promote the value of traditional marriage, a move some Democrats are calling an election year ploy that is none of Congress' business.

According to a GOP memo obtained by The Associated Press, the hearings will represent a ``full-court push to educate the public on the importance of marriage.''

Four committees are expected to hold hearings over the next two weeks, beginning Wednesday with a Health subcommittee's discussion on ``Healthy Marriage: What is it and why should we promote it?''

1. they have no shame. god, I HATE repugs. RV, who can remember when
divorce was illegal in America.

You know, if you want to 'promote' marriage, make divorce illegal.
Makes about as much sense as a constitutional amendment.

Hi, Mari. Hope you are feeling better today. Hugs, honey.

6. Baptist evangelicals have the HIGHEST divorce rate
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 07:52 PM by Mari333
in the country
if the repukes start promoting their version of biblical marriage, someone needs to study all the divorces each one of them has had, the nightly flings, the hookers they pick up in DC, and the kicks they get on the side..
Im sure there is plenty out there to nail these sanctomonius hypocrites with.

http://www.divorcereform.org/mel/rbaptisthigh.html

from the site:

"I believe we expect more out of marriage than we used to," he said.
"Gender roles have changed an awful lot. A lot of women are not putting
up with boorish louts like they were in the past."
haha

When in the hell did I leave planet Earth?

Edit: I haven't been here in awhile Mari...How are things with your son? I have thought of you often.

Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 07:41 PM by Mari333
says he cant stop coughing.
and I just saw on CNN that 2 more soldiers died in Baghdad just now...didnt see it on Breaking News on DU yet..]
I cant even keep count anymore.
Im doing okay, as long as I dont do too much. I am trying to balance my time, not expend too much energy so I dont collapse, and not just sit around and worry all the time. It changes day by day, sort of a roller coaster ride.
I hate living like this. we all do.
I think half the country is on the brink of dire despair, I really do.
at least the half that knows the truth.

10. I am sure you must cringe every time you see the news.
I have thought about you and your family alot. I wish they were all coming home.

It is just a matter of time before my 21 year old cousin, who is in the National Guard goes over. He has already done his "training" in one of the southern states and is just waiting for the word for when they leave.

This dumbass pResident has created a Godforsaken mess for the young people of this country to clean up. They should be ashamed of themselves.

everyone I know is cringing in fear, the poverty here is so bad, the elderly can barely make it, so many people are suffering, so many bad things are happening.
I keep having to get a grip on myself, I worry about not only Michael, but my other 3 sons and what kind of world they are inheritting.
god.
I wish you nephew would take off to a Quaker house in Canada. My nephew is about to go too.
Bush is killing our children.

4. To be perfectly fair...
they should have someone from the Baptists testifying as to why wives should be submissive to their husbands -- after all, its "traditional" marriage we're trying to save here...

They take any good thing and fucking dirty it to the point where any decent person wants nothing to do with it...

7. Where do -I- cash in?
My wife and I have chosen not to have children; that's certainly a failed marriage by Snator Santorum's standards. If they want to spend money to promote "successful" ones, I'll take a share...

9. Top 10 reasons for healthy marrage initative.
1, If your husband beats you to a pulp, never leave him. The lord will forgive him.

2, If your wife verbally abuses you and cheats on you, never leave her, the lord will forgive.

3, If your husband likes to rape you, its ok, you were suppose to say yes anyway. The lord will forgive you.

4, If your wife runs you over three times with a car in Texas, kills you, it ok. The lord will forgive her. Dumbya said its ok.

5, If husband beats the piss out of the kids, its ok, the lord will forgive him.

6, If your wife drowns and kills all 5 of your kids, that's totally cool, because the lord, who told her to do it anyway, will forgive you.

7, If you seek a divorce, the lord will not forgive you.

8, If you seek an annulment, the pope will forgive you.

9, If you are a male, still in the closet and caught banging a same sex partner while the wife and kids are out. The lord will not forgive you even though you thought you should have NOT been in a hetero marriage in the first place, but were forced too...because the lord, George thy Dubya Bush made it law against your kind.

10, If the lord thy Bush told us all how to get married, we would all be really screwed

12. We obviously need to forbid divorce! Pass a law!
No more divorce, not now, not ever!

That's what we need.

Preserve the sanctity of marriage!

Don't allow heterosexuals to destroy the sanctity of marriage!

13. HERE HERE! down with divorce...my repug siblings would
certainly be voting for Kerry then...my older sister, on her third marriage, catholic, she has three children, two by her second marriage, last one by her recent marriage.
Little sister, divorced and has been having an affair with a married man for five years. He has two children, she has two children. She hasn't remarried, he's still married.
Older brother has lived with his common law so called girlfriend for 21 years, they never married, her husband died while in the airforce, she counts on the extra money she still gets from the airforce. They have a son together, but my brother never married her because of the extra airforce money. Their son is going off to Bagdad in a few months (my nephew). All of my siblings, including my parents, who have remained married, are all republicians who think dumbya is doing a good job, in their own words, "I like him."

16. ARE THE REPUBLICANS SUPPORTING TROPHY WIFE WEDDINGS TOO?
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 09:07 PM by powergirl
Are they promoting, getting divorced once or twice - (Phil Gramm, Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr, etc.) Or how about dumping ole' wife #1 and trading up to a trophy wife. Are they supporting many or one marriage? I get so confused!!!
