1. after the oil wars are finished
depending on how they turn out and how much truth of their beginning makes its way to the common man.

2. When "Reality TeeVee" and Sports are taken off the air and cable.
Not ONE second before.

"Hey, Dudes! let's march in the street!"
"Uh, not right now, Bro, 'King of The Hill' is on!"

5. Ummm. The second revolution?
Edited on Sat Apr-24-04 09:22 AM by Mika
Oh... that's right... the Civil War was a war not a revolution... my bad.

Wait.... by revolution do you mean a divorce from the ruling power -a breakaway state, or just a change in status quo?

7. No, not a breakaway State.
I mean crushing those who wish to destroy our Great Nation--- the NEO-CONMEN.

6. When you can no longer get coke and cable
As long as people have their junk food and tv, the cynical part of me believes most people will continue to be amazingly (and/or willingly) ignorant and/or uncaring about what our gov't does....

But May 23rd, 2007? I'll keep that on my calendar :D

12. An astute observation is NEVER cynicism.
Give them their acidic drink, fat food, and bland television and many of them won't care about what the career politicians (of both sides) do. Just as long as they can afford to continue to do so, they will be happily indolent.

And it's the conservatives/repukes/et al who give it all to them too, no shock there. Particularly when big corporations support the repukes.

And as this sect of the population doesn't care to vote (and avoids politics altogether), they refuse to open their eyes and see the truth of how they are being used and discarded, as that is our society in a nutshell: Exploit, abuse, discard when it stops being profitable. I can call * human garbage that a feces fancying fly would avoid, but I put the "blissfully and willfully ignorant" on the same level for not wanting to be a part of society. But that's too harsh. We also need to ask what turned them off in the first place and to get their involvement. People are supposed to be the government. That's been taken away from us. We need it back and damn well soon.

On the plus side, that might be the repukes' ultimate undoing. We have to hope that everybody wakes up. While they hate hippies and the ilk, they forget that THEY created the very movement of which they scorn, and refuse to give themselves blame.

8. When Hell freezes over.
Americans have it too good materially, especially when compared to the rest of the world, to be seriously interested in revolution. At least this is my opinion. I'm not sure what it would take to change that, another Great Depression, perhaps.

9. Good point, forgethell.
We're much too comfortable to think about a revolution. It might last into the weekend, and that just won't do. Hell on election day, alot of us are too comfortable to get up and vote!
