what if a pregnant woman gets drafted?
just a theoretical question. they are seriously talking about re-intsating the draft, and this time with no college deferments, and no provision against drafting women.

of course, if a woman is pregnant, they aren't going to make her go to war. and, would certain women deliberately get pregnant to avoid the draft?

it opens up a lot of issues involving equality, etc.
what do women think about the possibility of being drafted?

1. There are always stateside office jobs
that they could do.. That would free up someone else to go.. Years ago, the WACs and WAVEs did mostly office work, and driving jobs..

2. Groovy dancing rhino -- and good point!
You point out an area that could be very messy. After all, Cheney got his wife pregnant so he wouldn't have to go to Vietnam. Imagine if they are drafting women! There goes the birth rate, straight through the ceiling!

I personally think if they are going to draft people they should draft both men and women (I'm a woman). But really, I don't think they should draft anyone!

3. They cannot draft women
I will bet the farm that this is not going to happen as long as women are prohibited from serving in combat positions. If the ERA had passed then it would be possible but not at the present time.

5. If a pregnant woman served in the war and was killed, would the enemy
combatant face charges under the new unborn victim act??

6. or the US government
wouldn't they face charges also if the woman was pregnant and they still send her

If the ratfuckers want to send women then they damn well better pass ERA!

Women do not, and are not recognized as having equal rights in the constitution therefore if they want to draft our mothers, sisters, and daughters they damn well better pass ERA.

8. She wouldn't serve in combat...
...or anywhere near the conflict. On the chance she was killed anyway? No. They wouldn't.

9. Indentured Servants
If Hagel gets his way, every young person will be conscripted for some type of service. I'm sure they'll find a way to force pregnant women into involuntary servitude.
