SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A 3-year-old girl drowned Sunday after falling into a backyard swimming pool.

It happened at a home on Quinby Way in south Sacramento.

Authorities said the girl's father was in the yard building a fence when the girl somehow got into the water. She

was not discovered for 7 to 8 minutes.

If you know of anyone who has a pool with no fence, please try to convince them to get one.

1. One of the reasons I have no desire for a pool
Also why I was adamantly opposed to a trampouline (but was overruled).

2. I thought most communities required a fence around a pool by law

3. I know they do if you are going to adopt, foster parent,
have a day care, but I don't think there are laws, here anyway, regarding having to have a fence put in. You can get one for about 1200 or bucks, well worth the price.

4. we have pool fence laws here
and still lose 4-12 kids every year. The Phoenix TV stations run announcements and reminders all the time "Two seconds is too long"

Stuff happens, the ones that get me are the ones when they leave the kids in the CAR in 110 degree heat-- criminal
