I still keep a handy link to http://www.mediawhoresonline.com/ in the hopes that the mysterious "horse", who has been "out to pasture" for several months, will come back home. So we can, at least, thank our friend and say goodbye. But, alas, even the "out to pasture" sign has been removed. The barn has been torn down. And all you see is a new notice:

she is a coward for hiding her identity, not that many or most online posters dont do the same, and perhaps her position in the whore media makes her more than vulnerable, but to personally attack people anonymously is less than courageous. She did have the indecency and explicit dishonesty to infer (when some talking shithead cable noise program stated MWO might be the source of violence) that I was the only one likely to do that. Fuck her. furthermore she NEVER pointed out the ownership issues that brought us the whore media, instead, as I said before, she simply tried to shame helpless sex workers who didnt support her brand of pro-Israel politician. deal with it.
I dont know if its cowardice or info-fascism that caused the message board to be shut down, but one by one the interactive features of the website were dismantled as hypocrisies were being discussed openly. She was the original mouthpiece for the Begala Nader blaming campaign, a hate based operation that has done incalculable damage to progressive politics, and a whitewash of Democratic complicity in the ascension of Bush the 43rd. They both earned their paychecks and Satanic kneepads there.

Every day here there's AT LEAST as much intelligent commentary and fact-based exposing of Media whoredom as there ever was on Horse.

I wonder if Horse's creator would consider selling the domain name and the template, rather than just let it go away--the horse has a large and loyal following and it would be a shame to let it go to waste.

They were there when the blogosphere was in its infancy, and they were the first ones to let me know that there were others like me out there, that I wasn't alone. And they did it with insight, great humor, and pretty good insider knowledge. I'll never forget them.

There were also blurred photos and pseudonyms of two male colleagues who withheld their names for professional reasons. Must have been moles, maybe even at the Post, considering a couple of "scoops" they ran about Post office gossip.

Feel free to google... it was in the early, heady days of MWO, a most influential political website regardless of what Nader fans think. The press was obsessed with "outing" the Horse, and went so far as to semi-accuse Bartcop, and I believe they even interviewed him about it. He's got a great old rant about those days in his archives.

Sigh... I hope the Horse is only out to a peaceful pasture, only to emerge when we really, really, really start missing the old nag. :-)

He/she/it said they'll be back, and I have reason to doubt it. I think they are just busy. The quality and frequency had really tailed off in the last year and a half; it was very disappointing. No "media whore of the week" update. I have the feeling MWO will be back before the election.
