Dennis sounds strong enough speaking normally despite his height. I think he feels as if he has to scream to sound emotional, but I have seen speeches by him in a normal tone and that were quite compelling.

For more on that "large plan" visit the website www.grahamforpresident.com and you can download the entire plan

As the other post says, there are similarities with Dean and Graham, and those similarities stem from the fact that they're both former Governors, they are more aware of unfunded mandates and matching funds and federal assistance

65. Lieberman
Lieberman can't get them riled up over the 2000 election, and that happened right after Dean used it to great applause!

That was the end of Lieberman's campaign. Right there. That second. I can actually point to it on replay. I'm serious. Lieberman just lost the race.

And started spouting off on Dean. It shows desperation, and from someone who was supposed to be a front-runner... that's a deathblow.

Lots of interrupting clauses... "When I was doing X, and, by the way, beaches have sand, and sand is grainy... Doing X is critical to our country's future."

88. CAST YOUR VOTE FOR WHO HAD THE BEST SHOWING TONIGHT NOW
My vote goes to Gephardt - although he is not my first choice, he had a pro labor record to talk about the entire night.

also looking good was Sharpton, Edwards (kinda), Dean and Kuci...though I thought Kuci turned off a lot of people including me

Poor showing by Liebermann and Graham.

No opinion on Bruan and Kerry

liking Gephardt too... very pragmatic presentation prob the most likely over braun or sharpton.

Braun... she seemed the least rehearsed and therefore came across to me as the sincerest... came in on healthcare

I have to now do some research on their voting records before I can say...

Lieberman, graham, dean, lost me

Kerry no opinion.

is that everyone?

anyway most of this is based on presentation rather than any of the issues. Now i do some digging. and figure of my choices who I believe would have the best chance of taking the WH...

102. I thought it was a great debate.
Really good to see them tear down the "facade" of Shrub. As far as who won...tough to tell with soo many speeches and so little time.

Kucinich - may have lost with his "hyperness"
Kerry/Dean - no mistakes ... made sense ..easy to like
Graham - no home runs unfortunately
Sharpton - most passionate member..surprised me
CMB - she said some good things...glad to see her

It will be interesting to see how the press will coverage this.

114. good debate
Edwards and Kerry--helped themselves, I think.
Howard was Howard--excellent job.
Sharpton--great to listen to, hit the nail on the head each time.
Mosely-Braun--didn't hurt herself anyway, a bit lightweight
Joe--'nuff said
Kucinich--damn, too shrill, I watched w/my mom and she couldn't understand what he said because he was talking so fast.
Graham--earnest, sincere, almost as boring as Lieberman.

The more I think about his remark comparing Dean to McGovern, the more he really, really pisses me off. I will be delighted the day he is forced to drop out of this race. If he thinks he has a snowball's chance, he's nuts.

125. This is so Difficult---
Here are my takes on my four favorites strengths:

Edwards-- The most persuasive speaker and most "likable".

Dean-- Beautiful Bluntness. Displays the most canny aggression.

Kerry-- The genuine military package. His service gives him an authority no one else has on matters of war.

Graham-- The most varied resume, the best attention to detail.

Part of me wants to support a candidate who's style echoes my own, part of me wants to ensure getting the most electable TEAM in place.

126. Carol Mosley Braun mentioned the fact that she doesn't understand
why health insurance is tied to employers. I agree with that 100% and have felt that for years. Even though I don't support her for the presidential spot I think she could work in the Democratic administration on the health care plan. Also, did anyone catch what Dean said about a Walmart employee who was actually at the debate tonight being fired. I didn't quite grasp what the person was fired for, but think it was something to do with a union. I say many thanks to Dean for mentioning this.
