I'd never seen it live before...it looks even worse than it sounds. He makes some Kerry jokes but he seems to really be going after shrubbie lately.

4. He's just an entertainer.
He goes for laughs, but if his audience is on Bush's side, he won't get them by insulting Bush.

What this means is that the audience is no longer on Bush's side.

6. Actually, I have this clip...

... and Mark Crispin Miller, who wrote a book about Bush's gaffes called The Bush Dyslexicon, thought it exposed a dark little corner of his soul. Namely, that he can't conceive of himself being wrong. He actually can't say the sentence "shame on me" in the cliche, because he can't imagine that as a possibility.

And the same thing happened again at the presss conference last night when the reporter asked him if he had ever made a mistake.

8. Interesting....
it may tie in with his mother's abuse of him. I've seen it in others-when they've been told they are wrong over and over they refuse to believe it because if they buy it they buy all the things said about them and it destroys what little self esteem they have. But then lack of self esteen doesn't seem to be georgie's problem. It was quite striking how he couldn't admit an mistakes or express any regret.
