Per-day fatality averages are approaching Vietnam levels.
681 US soldiers have died in Iraq. That's 80 dead soldiers so far in April, averaging 6.31 per day. AND WE HAVEN'T EVEN REACHED THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH!!!

If 58,000 US soldiers died in Vietnam spanning the course of roughly 10 years (or 3,653 days), then the Vietnam average over a course of 10 years was 15.88 dead soldiers per day. At this pace, we'll see those averages pretty damn soon.

1. But the averages far surpass
what we experienced early on in Nam. Been there. Done that. Don't want to see it again!
