AN OPEN LETTER TO CONDOLEEZZA RICE
"You Are a Liar"

by

Catherine Austin Fitts
Former Assistant Secretary of Housing

Hon. Condoleezza Rice
National Security Advisor
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

April 9, 2004

Dear Ms. Rice:

I am writing to communicate four points regarding your testimony yesterday
under oath before the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the
United States.

Point #1: You are a liar.

Attorney General Ashcroft sits on the National Security Council. Warned by
his FBI security detail, the head of law enforcement for the United States
knew to avoid commercial airlines on September 11, 2001.

It was your job as National Security Advisor to make sure that the people
who flew on American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, United
Airlines Flight 93 and American Airlines Flight 77 had the benefit of the
same warnings as those they paid to protect us.

You knew. You kept silent. They died.

You had numerous warnings of the risks of 9-11 - sufficient to let the
American people know and use their best judgment as to how to protect
themselves from a possible attack. It was your job as National Security
Advisor to make sure that the people in the South Tower of the World Trade
Center had the knowledge they needed to evacuate their building upon seeing
the North Tower hit by a plane.

You knew. You kept silent. They died.

Point #2: Your motives are transparent.

The World Trade Center is in the heart of New York City - one of the great
financial capitals of the world. The Pentagon is in the heart of
Washington -- the appropriation and accounting capital for the US federal
budget and credit and the US Treasury - the largest issuer of securities in
the world.

Unlike many other terrorist attacks, these attacks killed people whose
family, friends and neighbors understand how these financial systems work.
Victim families, friends and the residents of the communities directly
harmed can calculate who made money on 9-11 profiteering. They can trace the
flow of money into the 2004 Presidential campaign coffers from the profits
your supporters made as a result of 9-11 profiteering. They can calculate
how 9-11 profiteering connects to the financing and silence of corporate
media.

Those personally impacted and the global researchers they network with have
the intellectual power and personal courage to ask and answer, "Cui Bono?"
(Who Benefits?) They understand that your success as National Security
Advisor is as a direct result of your failure to stop 9-11. They can see how
your lies about 9-11 made money for the investment syndicate that put you in
power and for the buyers of US Treasury securities who are so richly paid to
finance the US military, intelligence and enforcement apparatus and the
defense contractors and oil interests it serves.

All the campaign ads in the world can not now convince the American people
that you have their best interests at heart.

Point #3: You are going down.

The richest and most powerful people in the world pay for performance. They
pay you to make the US governmental apparatus look legitimate while they use
it to centralize economic and political power. That means they need liars
who are better at lying than you.

The myth that you had no idea that Americans deserved to be warned about the
risks of flying or planes being used as weapons is now in the dust heap with
the notion that the United States attacked Iraq and our soldiers are dying
to protect us from Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.

Your lies of 9-11 - like your lies about the Iraqi war - have been
profitable for the military-banking complex you represent. These lies,
however, have not misled the crowd. The American people and global citizens
are looking for the truth. We demand the changes that will give meaning and
honor to those who died on 9-11 and in the ensuing wars. We demand an end to
further bloodshed. We demand a refund of all that you and your backers have
stolen from those of us who remain alive.

Point #4: You are guilty of criminal gross negligence.

If you want to catch a terrorist today, you need look no further than your
own mirror.

Many Americans gather this weekend to give thanks that Jesus died for our
sins and gave us the covenant of grace. In the spirit of our Lord's
crucification and resurrection, may God have mercy on your soul.

Sincerely Yours,

Catherine Austin Fitts

Dismissed as a low level offical in Bush 1. However if a dishwasher in the white house said this about Clinton or someone in his admin, he or she would be all over the networks, they would be a household name by now.

14. Yes, they will ignore her credentials from Dillon, Reed.
No one is appointed assistant secretary of anything in an administration unless he or she is a real player in "something" in another realm of endeavor.

Her time as a managing director and board member of a major investment house shows that she is a player. I suspect that she came into contact with people who "pay for performance" and who will "bring down" if she doesn't can't protect their investments. I hope some of Condi's oil buddies explained all of this to her before she took office.

After all, isn't the entire Bush regime a "pay for performance" operation to protect the interests of the few?

Perhaps those who "pay for performance" will also find that they haven't received what they paid for from the entire Bush mess and will, in the end, "bring down" in November.

"Somebody knew

Throughout the world the independent media organizations have done an outstanding job of picking up and reporting on independently published stories which the major media overlooked. One of the most outstanding examples of this was a July 16, 2002 piece posted at the web site of Portland Indymedia (www.portland.indymedia.org) that reproduced the following short article originally found at The Memory Hole.44

“NPR interview on 9-11 confirmed attack was ‘not entirely unexpected.'

“It's certainly one of the most disturbing and important indications that the government knew the attacks of September 11, 2001, were coming. On that morning, National Public Radio (NPR) was presenting live coverage of the attacks on its show Morning Edition. Host Bob Edwards went to a reporter in the field—David Welna, NPR's Congressional correspondent—who was in the Capitol building as it was being evacuated. Here is the crucial portion of Welna's report:

”'I spoke with Congressman Ike Skelton—a Democrat from Missouri and a member of the Armed Services Committee—who said that just recently the Director of the CIA warned that there could be an attack—an imminent attack—on the United States of this nature. So this is not entirely unexpected.'

(Audio links for this interview are located at Thememoryhole and NPR websites) www.thememoryhole.org/tenet-911.htm"

Please be sure to listen to the audio for this interview.

Thanks seventhson.

15.  bush didn't tell of airlines of threats so the economy wouldn't tank
its pretty simple really.

ashcroft was told not to fly commercial air lines in july 2001 for fear of hijackings, but the public was nor told of such concerns.

anyone believe that the average person would not think twice about flying if they knew that that the attorney general was refusing to fly commerically?

had the bushevik administration given a public warning, the air lines would have lost passengers and profits.

bush was trying to prevent economic losses to the air lines and travel businesses, so he ignored issuing a warning that would hurt these types of businesses.

the worst events do not happen because of great zorastarian-like forces of good or evil. they come about via sheer venalities, such as greed and stupidity, both of which the busheviks have in excess.

"bush was trying to prevent economic losses to the air lines and travel businesses, so he ignored issuing a warning that would hurt these types of businesses."

I suspect something worse (complicity) - but LOOK AT the economic consequences of NOT warning us (or maybe THAT is what the Bushco WANTED)

"I didn't warn the people because I was afraid it might hurt the economy"-- and thousands died and the economy is in a shambles.

"I hit the TRIFECTA" says Bush "Wahoo"

all hat and no cattle asshole

20. i think we will find out soon that there are no "ifs" about this.
Edited on Sat Apr-10-04 10:06 AM by kodi
in the summer of 2001 it was known that high-level federal officials were told to forgo commerical air planes for travel.

that summer, there was mention of it in the press that ashcroft was then switching from commerical to private jet planes for travel. nobody in the press pressed the bushevik administraion on this as to what drove this decision.

we now know what drove the decision.

it was understood that issuing warnings would dramatically reduce air carrier customers during the peak season and that the air lines would suffer dramatic losses as a consequence. there is no logical reason other than bush did not want to scare air line passangers away from airports.

there are no "ifs, and or buts" about this. bush made a calcuated decision to withhold warnings about potential terrorist air plane attacks/highjackings so as to not cripple the air line industry.

you see, according to his logic, what was good for general aviation was good for the USA.

on edit: we have seen this modus operendi appear again later in the bush administration with how they handled the mad cow disease scare the past year....consumer be damned, we have an economy to run.

30. On 9/10 Pentagon Generals cancel travel plans for 9/11
On July 26, 2001 - 47 days before the Sept. 11 attacks - CBS News reported that Ashcroft was flying expensive charters rather than commercial flights because of a "threat assessment" by the FBI. CBS said, "Ashcroft has been advised to travel only by private jet for the remainder of his term." Newsweek later reported that on Sept. 10, 2001, "a group of top Pentagon officials suddenly canceled travel plans for the next morning, apparently because of security concerns." (my emphasis /jc)

It would simply never occur to a member of BushCo to save any butt but his own.

Weren't huge short positions in airline stocks taken in European exchanges just before 9/11? IIRC, no one has stepped forward to claim their bazillions. I hope that efforts to identify those investors are ongoing. On second thought, who am I kidding?

53. Public vs Airline security
Maybe if they hit the ground running on 1/21/01, or even 3-4 months later when they had the big spike, they could have at least warned airline security or quietly put undercover federal marshalls on some long range flights?

28. This is great but will do no good unless it goes mainstream.
She needs to go on the main media. She needs to have her name mentioned a whole bunch of times, all over the place. She needs to go on Air America. She needs to be tipped to Michael Issikoff at Newsweek, who seems to be realizing there's dirt here to sift through. She needs to be sent to Chris Matthews and the "Jersey Girls" - Hardball last Thursday, after Contradicta's testimony, was an absolutely balls-out fabulous show. Matthews seemed, finally, to GET IT. I was quite surprised.

But if this letter does nothing more than languish on the internet, it's not gonna make a particle bit of difference.

Note my sig line. CALL YOUR CONGRESSCRITTER about this. That's the FIRST STEP toward making noise about it. TOLL FREE, even.

48. Has anyone made sure Lou Dobbs has seen this?
He seems to be one voice who raises serious questions beyond the typical spinn.

49. Dobbs and Bush
Lou Dobbs has been quite aggressive about jobs going overseas but I have an e-mail pitching his financial tipsheet and he talks about Bush winning big in November. And he is not lamenting Bush winning. It's in another mailbox, I'll switch over and see if I still have it and I will quote from it.

I can say with certainty that the most exciting action in the markets is in the months leading up to November. And Bush's re-election bid promises to be a bonanza for some sectors.

60. we need snopes on this
or some other verification that this is, in fact, the letter and that it was, in fact, sent to Condi.

Hoot all you want, but we can't toss this on the table unless we know it's authentic. If it is, I'd be happy to print up tee-shits with this on them!
