"Stop the war on the Iraqi people"...
this from www.wsws.org It's really amazing that these "commie pinko bastards" methods of reporting the TRUTH clashes so hard with the LIBERAL MEDIA
<snip>

Little more than a year after the invasion of Iraq and four months after the capture of Saddam Hussein, the Bush administration has unleashed a new and bloody military offensive against the Iraqi people.

These attacks against civilian population centers constitute war crimes. They are being carried out with the deliberate aim of intimidating the growing popular resistance to the US occupation. The Iraqi dead surely number in the hundreds, though a precise figure is not known. Many hundreds more men, women, and children have been wounded as rockets, shells and heavy machine gun fire rain down on densely populated urban neighborhoods.

American working people must demand an immediate halt to this slaughter and the withdrawal of all US troops from Iraq. The claim that this violence is justified retaliation for attacks on Iraq's occupiers merits only contempt.
<snip>

The operation conducted by US Marines in Fallujah has unfolded under a veil of secrecy, with the media barred from the scene. The US military has subjected this town of 500,000 to a seige, barricading all roads in and out. Food deliveries have been halted and people prevented from going to work. Access to Fallujah's main hospital, which is situated across the Euphrates River, has been cut off. A smaller private hospital inside the city has been shelled by tanks and helicopters.

more...www.wsws.org

This is a juicy article of the highest order, and if after reading this, one isn't thoroughly pissed, then I don't know what it will take...although the pictures I seen in another post here of dead children sent my blood pressure up about 50 degrees!!

1. Write to your Reps
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 09:45 PM by kenzee13
and call them tomorrow. I sent the following letter tonight email, will follow it with a printed version tomorrow, and will call tomorrow too.

There are photos of US forces carrying wounded and dead comrades all over the Internet tonight. If one looks, there are also photos of dead children from Fallujah. It is time to take these photos on to the floor of the Senate and House and DEMAND and end to the deliberate murder of civilians in Iraq. The citizens of this country did not sign on to this war to blow children to bits. Did the Senate and House vote for the IRW to slaughter children? That is what is happening there. Is slaughtering the children going to win “the hearts and minds” of even moderate Iraqis? How long before even pro-US Iraqis have seen enough of their children die? And how many more flames will we add to the fires of terrorism by slaughtering, burning, and dismembering a country’s children?

Sincerely,

Not the best letter I've ever written, but had to do something now.

If you go to http://www.vote-smart.org/ it is easy to email your Reps and get addresses. Demand an end to this horror now.

2. Good letter Kenzee13...

but I'm beginning to think a HUGE march on Washington is what it's gonna take to get the attention of Congress! I know it would be grotesque, but perhaps large poster size photos of the dead children should be put on diaplay for those "Moral" Republicans to see!

4. The last time a King George sent in troops to pacify a colony
it was 1776.

This country has come full circle.

5. This is unbelievable
Let me get this straight. The US, strongest country on earth, unilaterally invaded Iraq, a defenseless country, occupies it, then when local extremists killed and hung four mercenaries in Fallujah, the US now targets the whole of Fallujah, all 500,000 of them. People can't go to work, roads barricaded, food deliveries halted, acces to main hospital cut off, other hospital shelled by tanks ad helicopters, etc.

Great way to win the hearts and minds of the Iraqis! Or maybe the US is no longer interested in winning the hearts and minds of the locals, but only in revenge. Please go home before it gets worse.

is that we have to resort to alternate media sites in order to get the truth!The Murdoch's and Scaifes in this country running the media are nothing better than Julius Streicher wannabes...and they should meet the same fate that he did at Nuremberg! http://www.US-Israel.org/jsource/Holocaust/Streicher.html

9. interesting that there's no discussion of the contention that . . .
not much will change in a Kerry administration vis-a-vis Iraq . . . unfortunately, this is probably true . . . so why bother voting for Kerry? . . .

well, for me, it's the fact that I'll be part of Kerry's constituency, and politicians MUST respond to their constituencies . . . with nowhere else to go, liberals, progressives, and left-leaning moderates will make up a substantial portion of Kerry's political constituency and, as such, will have an opportunity to influence the direction of policy . . . that may not sound like much, but with Bush we have absolutely zero chance of influencing anything . . .

all I'm saying is that Kerry's election would only be the beginning of a long fight on a host of issues . . . but with Kerry, at least, there's a chance we'll be heard . . . and given the rapid deterioration in Iraq, the "we" I'm referring to could be a significantly larger segment of the American public by the time January rolls around . ..
