The DeBushifacation of Moron America has begun.
LOL...Thanks NPR for the idea of this phrase... Except they used Debathifacation in Iraq of the Bathist party. Hey..we're over there deprogramming the Bathists...well I say that Moron America is going through deprogramming as well.

1. I REALLY hope that's true.
I'm afraid that too many Americans still think Bush is great. For the life of me, I can't believe that his poll numbers are still in the high 40's. When will America wake up????

10. Not sure I believe it, either
Absent a few of the rusty gears of the Old Republic firing up perhaps one last time...I don't see it.

And Corporate TV Pravda is still the media of slaves.

Some days are better than others.

However, if you think my persoanl day-to-day feeling are going to hamper my work for the Restoration of the Old Republic: Step #1-Elect Kerry, you've got another thing coming.

It is vitally imperative for Kerry to win by 10% so that he can "eke out a squeaker" of less than 1% on Pravda.

If Kerry doesn't win by 10%...he loses. It's as simple as that.

Yes, today I am bummed. So was George Washington in 1780 and we all know what happened after that...

(no, I am not comparing myself to Washington, except that we are both battling the same people seperated by some 225 years)

The TRUTH sank in slowly, eh? You ask yourself if your ears are hearing what they're hearing, look a person in the eye and ask, "Did I understand you correctly?" then have to decide real quick if it's even worth "going there." ((((:loveya:))))

Hmmmm... Should it be "debushification?"

4. I wish I could agree...
But it's so hard to believe when there are so many diehard Bush fans out there. Polls are still at 40%, and I swear, if Bush admitted to eating Etheopian kids for breakfast, some people would praise him for helping to 'end their plight.' Ok, an exaggeration maybe, but it's really, really frustrating. People who feel Rumsfeld is trustworthy. Aargh.

Sorry to hijack your post with negativity. I really, really hope you are right! There are stories on here of long-time repubs disgusted with the current administration, I just hope the trend continues!!

19. Not much of an exaggeration
When I told a wingnut coworker that I didn't think getting rid of Saddam was worth killing thousands of innocent women and children, she informed me that "some people's lives are not worth living."

Oh yes she did.

6. To these diehard true believers of Bush the thing that matters
is that he is kicking some ayrab ass and showing them not to mess with the good old U.S. of A.Everything else is irrelevant, including, I am sorry to say, Clarke's revelations that this administration was`
asleep when 9/11 occurred. This is why Bush can make a joke about the nonexistent WMD and have many Congreespeople, Democrats and Republicans alike laugh at his "joke". I am sure the only people who are pained by this vulgar display were the widows of 9/11 and the families of people killed in the Iraq war, Americans and Iraqis alike.

16. I agree
about Repukes being the most uninformed. That is also the reason they can't debate on any of the issues. They don't check facts on anything presented to them. No critical thinking whatsoever.

I have been to the Free Republic once to check out the enemy. I didn't remember seeing any real discussion about news containing links. Freepers post the most disgusting lies without providing links and people just swallow it. Their mentality is "if it comes from Bush it must be true" or "if it is posted on the Free Republic website, it can't be a lie" - Repukes are like little brainless robots programmed to follow the leader.

It seems that all the critical, well-informed, and smart people found their way to DU.

22. Morons
As much as I am real frustrated that so many Americans still support Bushco I cannot say that all of those that do are morons. I have met people off line and have read many people's views on line that are of average or higher IQ that support Bushco. They have a mindset and political, social and philosophical framework for their beliefs. To call people morons is the wrong way to go about the discussion. It makes people dislike or downright hate the other. Some people will never change their POV because their midset will always rationalize any counter to what the firmly believe. Facts will never get most people to change their mind about anything and calling them morons certainly won't.

24. I am frustrated, too.
And to be honest, I don't care if Bush-bots like me or not. If not, well, then, the feeling is pretty much mutual.

What was the old criteria for a "moron"? IQ of 50-something? OK, so MAYBE a large percentage of them doon't fit that catagory, but I'll lay odds that with the exception of the obscenely rich "Bush Pioneer" types, that you will not find many MENSA members in their ranks either.

And if they won't listen to facts and possibly change their minds, then why not call them morons?

I get stuck in commute traffic ,
struggle to pay bills ,and relax
after work... but I also think that as an American I should at least have an inkling of what the fuck is going on in my Government... I pay for it and I want to know if what I'm paying for is worth it.

I'll tell you another reason that I want to know what is going on....So folks when talking about politics don't look over and ask me a basic simple question and I reply with a Moronic answer.

26. True, I got thru to my own mother and she doesnt read
lives in a small republican town, doesnt read, and always voted GOP on just the abortion issue.
She has sold her furniture for meds, and taken in my homeless sister with her kid (my sister lost her other children to her ex, who is an alcoholic, because she cant get a job, even tho my sister had custody...single mother scenario=Bushwhacked)
and then when they took Michael to Iraq that was it. I kept feeding my mother the information about Bush and she is 100% against him. She hates him. She wont vote at all she said. Just wont, so, thats one more vote for the Dems.
But it had to hit home for her , and I struck her with information while the iron was hot.
She watches C Span now instead of Faux, which is a big leap for her.
She isnt a moron, just a nice old woman who never read anything much and didnt think much for herself.
Shes red hot with anger now.

35. Oh they're just ignorant, on purpose
They (we) get distracted and stressed
The news is too stressing so they watch the game
Then they get embarrassed by some current event and watch some CNN
Then it smells funny so they look around, but find the truth so
disturbing they switch back to the game and think of better ways
to to change the subject back to The Game next time current events comes up.

Since they rely on FAUXNews because it's "Fair and Balanced" (they SAID so, they couldn't say that on my Tee-Vee iffn' it weren't true, could they?)

I LIKE that idea about challenging them on just what exactly makes the Chimp "strong". How does one go about getting past the expected response of "Because he *IS*! YOU just HATE him, don't you? Dam Li-bu-ral!"

30. I had this in another post but it is appropriate for this thread.
A majority of the American people are not only ignorant they are stubborn and stupid and wishy-washy with no true conviction or ideology. How else do you explain a 90% approval rating for bu$h after 9/11. Give me a break - people don't know what to think unless they're told what to think. They don't read newspapers anymore - they are spoon fed dirt bag political commercials that are about as effective as a tablespoon of placebo. The dumbing down of America has been a long time coming and we can see it in every aspect of society. To think that those insipid commercials could have any affect at all is just horrifying!! But the sad fact is - they do. I remember asking a bu$h supporter why she was supporting bu$h. "Because of his strong leadership" she replied. So I asked her what was strong about it and she hemmed and hawed and she couldn't answer a simple question like that. She was told that bu$h was a strong leader and she let it be her truth even though she had no idea why she thought the way she did. I think we should all grab a video camera and go out on the street and interview every bu$h supporter and ask them why they support bu$h. After they give their pat answer call them on it and see how many actually KNOW why they are supporting this complete failure . . . .

I was just sitting here being amazed and encouraged that Joe Scarborough was ranting about Condi not testifying the White House creating "the appearance of a cover-up." But then he finished ranting and, before he went to commercial, set up the next segment about Richard Clarke profiting from "his failure as America's top terrorism officer," and specifically a woman who says he's profiting from the death of her son, a firefighter who died in the 911 attacks. It's like the smarter they get, the stupider they get.

On edit:

Before I start a flame riot, I'm not saying this woman is stupid or trying to delegitimize her feelings. I think it's sad that she's focusing on Richard Clarke's profits - which, I'm sure, pale in comparison to the profits Bushco and others have made off of 911. And it's despicable that Scarborough is using her in this fashion, and people are stupid enough to fall for it. That's what I meant.
