The more they attack Clarke the more right he looks
The truth has turned this white house on it's ear. They are in a deperate cover-up mode. It's no wonder they didn't want this invesigation.

And this coming from an administration running on anti-terrorism and national security?

How can they be the ones strong on this issue when they stifle the quest for answers for prevention? They are behaving in an opposite manner. THEY should be the ones seeking answers.

But the Clarke bash, the bash of one individual so heavily only shows one thing-- they are guilty.

1. the more obvious it is that THEY are the liars
I agree, the more they crank it up, the more they expose themselves.

It's like vampires getting hit by a beam of sunlight.

May they all rot in hell.

4. They are digging themselves deeper and deeper
into the pit of lost credibility.

The more they try to dig themselves out, the deeper they get.

2. They're Overreaching Again
Their response to Clarke is SO over the top and SO coordinated and SO vicious and obvious that it's cartoonish. People get it. They've seriously jumped the shark I think.

5. Considering all they have to do is put Condi up to testify...
...in public and under oath to respond to Clarke's input. It's shouldn't be that big of a deal at all. We had an attack on us bigger than pearl harbor. They should be at least interested how we can protect the country. There is something wrong with this picture. THEY should be driving and striving for the answers, not hindering.

6. Methinks the Bushies doth protest too much...
Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of the Bush cabal? Are they FINALLY beginning to unravel? Can impeachment be far off?

PLEASE GOD let it be so. Please, please, please...

7. Exactly.
In addition I think Clarke inoculated himself from further criticism when during the 9-11 hearings he turned to some of the family members of 9-11 victims and apologized for not stopping the attacks.

I wish the Bushitters could show even half as much class.

8. They are throwing everything they have at this guy.

Short of him actually dying in a small aircraft crash. Wilson is a partisan, has openly endorsed John Kerry, and so his book, while credible, won't have nearly the impact of this one.

Clarke is nonpartisan, an expert in the field of counterterrorism, and is a registered Republican who worked for both the Bush and the Reagan administrations. There isn't anybody on the planet I don't think who could have hurt Bush more by saying the things that he has said.

I really think that's why his book is selling so well. People on the other side will listen to him. Other decent Republicans will have their eyes opened.

Look, I know we operate on this board like Malloy said, "all Republicans are evil." We all know that's not really true, right?

Damn, what a good day.

11. a combo
the over the top attacks on Clarke, if they persist for a few more months, in conjunction with the non-stop negative ads against Kerry will expose the bushies for what they are: thuggish, classless, school yard bullies.

12. That apology he did..
was the smartest move he could've made. Now they look like assholes for attacking a man who feels honest pain over failing America. Very moving. You could see in his eyes that he felt it deeply.
