News coverage of protests against war is awesome
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 11:07 PM by linazelle
For once they covered the story about protesters around the world. NYC Rocks! 30,000 people. One man arrested on a "weapons charge" for a slingshot with a marble. :eyes:

Less than 25 arrests internationally based on reports.

While I'm happy that they are reporting, it's still cowardly that they're only reporting now, when it seems to be somewhat more politically correct to do so.

1. Which coverage did you see?
I saw NBC news west coast, and it was quite good. Showed a great segment on Madrid, mentioned Rome and London too.

Showed NYC and I think SF, too.

2. I heard 80 got arrested in SF....
Part of the black bloc contingent. I saw a huge group of them leaving the rally at the civic center to begin their own un-permitted march. They were chanting "whose streets?...our streets!, and looking to push the envelope. I think they began blocking intersections.

3. Only 80
That's great news. I saw the after rally crowd and it looked that maybe 1,000 folks were involved. I'm glad only 80 got arrested. When I figured out what was going on, I left as quickly as possible.

I wish we could have met you at the protest.

6. NYC Radio (CBS) said 100,000 marchers reported by organizers
40,000 by police officials.
