I thought of this argument regarding "appeasement" over lunch.

OK so we've seen a couple (now tombstoned) people come in here and try to make this argument that Spanish voters were appeasing the terrorists if they voted the Partido Popular out in big numbers...basically a hit-and-run kind of a thing where it's implied that you are appeasing the terrorists if you don't do the opposite of what they want.

Warning. Sarcasm ahead.

We all know that every now and then someone will perpetrate a terrorist attack on an abortion clinic, or a doctor who performs abortions. Presumably this is meant to prevent people from having abortions. There can be no doubt then, that anyone who does not abort their every pregnancy, is appeasing terrorists. Why are so many conservatives appeasing terrorists by having children?!!?

4. Uh - no they won't and haven't.

In fact, they go out of their way to either:

1) remain silent

or

2) go out of their way to say how much they emphathize and understand where they are comming from - just short of endorsing it.

Incidentally, the 8' zone around family planning clinics is the ONLY "zone" that any democrat has approved of - and for good reasons considering the killing of many doctors by same anti-abortionist thugs - this is a far cry from bunkerboy's "1st ammendment zones".
