Madrid attack being billed as attack on "European" democracy by some
This easily could have happened in Japan or South Korea, two members of the "coalition of the willing" that are not "European". Why are some trying to turn this into an attack on "Europe", just like 9/11 was turned by many into an attack on "the West"? Must there always be a non-white conspiracy to destroy majority-white nations when a single majority-white nation is attacked?

1. Huh?
I think you're trying too hard to look for racism where there is no evidence of it.

If Al Qaeda is found to be responsible for this attack, are you suggesting that we ignore it or downplay it because Al Qaeda is "non-white"?

I'm not sure I'm following you.

2. Response
If Al-Qaeda is behind the attacks, it should be seen as an attack on Spain for supporting the Iraq war, not some attack on "European democracy."

Well, I can see both aspects being true, that is, Spain might have been attacked because it is a non-Muslim "heathen" democracy, AND that it was a willing participant in the invasion of Iraq. A 2-for, as it were.

On edit: Muslim terrorism is not confined to western democracies nor did it arise from the invasion of Iraq.

4. Correct
But if Al-Qaeda is behidn this it has nothing to do with Europe. It just as easily could have attacked South Korea or Japan. One can call it an attack on a non-Muslim democracy but not an attack on "the West" or "Europe" IMO.
