We now have drug-resistent bacteria causing disease throughout the world.
In case anyone doesn't know how that works, well, it's basically natural selection at work.
Antibiotics kill 99.99% of the disease-causing microbes , but the remaining .01% which don't get killed, and are thus resistant to the antibiotic go on to reproduce and take the place of the old microbes.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Until before long you have microbes that simply cannot be killed or stopped by any known antibiotic.
(there's a famous picture of a mosquito perched quite healthily on a drop of pure DDT - the same thing happens in insects and any other living population)
Now we had Nixon. We got rid of him. But the "survivors" came back and took over again. This time it was Reagan. We got rid of him, but this time the survivors came back, resulting in Poppy Bush .... and we got rid of him, but this time his fucking SON came back ....
Get the idea? EACH TIME THEY GET WORSE! Each time they're more dangerous! Each time they're more hell-bent on destroying everything!
How do we stop them?
Voting Bush out of power is only a temporary stop-gap method, a bandaid on the flesh-eating-bacteria-wound.
