Is there someone Nader respects so much, that if he asked Nader to drop out, he would?

Like the author Howard Zinn or the author Studs Terkel?

1. I think Nader's ego is too big to listen to anyone
He would rather get his 6% and let Bush win.

I do wish some of the children of the men and women killed in Iraq would write him a letter, though.

17. He seems pretty selfless to me.
In fact, he seems more compassionate, concerned about the common man, and against big-business than the current frontrunner.

If he has an ego (wich I don't't seem to detect), he deserves it. He's accomplished a lot in his long life. At least he doesn't have an annoying sense of entitlement to everybody's votes (THAT'S egotistical). It's up to the Democratic candidate to work hard to earn votes, not win them by default.

18. What's wrong with this picture?
He would rather get his 6% and let Bush win.

What's wrong with this country is that Bush isn't the one with the 6%.

There was a time when someone with the morals of George Wallace or David Duke never had a chance in the big time. Now it's all turned on its head and we've got George Wallace and David Duke all rolled up in one package with a few added touched for bad measure thrown in.

In a country like what this one is supposed to be like we would be having presidential races between men like John Kerry and Ralph Nader, who are both basically decent, good men.

It's a shame that Democrats have to be afraid of Bush getting votes. We should be using him for toilet paper. How did it get this bad? What's wrong with this picture?

3. Why "ask" him to drop-out?
If Nader was not running this year, Democrats will blame someone else.

They'll say that the Greens are responsible for taking 3% of the vote...

If not the Greens, they'll blame Dean.

If not Dean, they'll blame the Independents.

If not the Indys, they blame the Progressive Party

If not the PP, they'll blame Jesse Ventura and the Independence Party.

So it goes....

Instead of trying to pin the "blame" on others, why not find a way to bring the opposition into the fold?

That's the real question that needs to be asked...over, and over, and over...

4. Not Dean. Dean has gone on record saying dems must stick together
He understands that if Bush wins because of a third party attracting votes away from the dem candidate, we are screwed.

10. Everyone sees your reasoning.
Even the most ardent Greens see it too.

Did you know that the Greens Party USA is considering not running a National candidate this year?

Did you know that a lot of Greens will vote for the Dem Nominee, just like they have in 2000?

Instead of asking "What will the Greens do for the Democrats?"...

How about "What will the Democrats do for the Greens?" once in a while?

Is that too much to ask?

Was the Mayoral race in San Francisco too much to ask?

13. You've got to be kidding!
Instead of asking "What will the Greens do for the Democrats?"...

How about "What will the Democrats do for the Greens?" once in a while?

What we will friggin' do for the Greens is get Bush out of office and save the environment.

I'm not blaming the Greens or Nader for losing. I'm blaming self centered ideologues who refuse to believe that the lesser of two evils is better than the worst of those same two evils.

5. You're right
Dems have a tendency to blame others lately. Nader is running becuase he feels that this country needs him. he sees that Bush and Kerry are Big Business bitches, and that someone needs to change the system now. If you sit by and do nothing to stop evil, that makes you evil, right? Besides, if they even let Nader in the building, how will bush face him? There is nothing bush can say to him that will help himself but not also be a lie. Nader has saved millions of lives, while bush's count is almost ten thousand into the red.

6. The greens will be a whole lot farther from the fold if
Kerry loses. At this point in time they might as well be campaigning for Bush. That's exactly what Nader is doing.

12. Who are you people to criticize Nader?
I thought Nader had saved millions of lives. Doesn't this make him a good man? Is he to blame for the world's overpopulation? Is that it? Is that why so many people hate him? You should go to his website. He has a wealth of anti-shrub info. including more than a dozen policies that he opposes, yet signes off on. It's in TX. He has to sign a paper before they will let him run again.

9. Many distinguished people *have* asked Nader to pass on running...
As I understand it, the Green Party more or less asked Nader to not run.

Nearly all progressive publications have featured columns by prominent individuals asking Nader to not run.

But oh, no, Ralp's got 20-20 vision while the rest of us are wearing bifocals (in his dreams).

19. Why dump on Nader?

I think Bush stole 2000, would've done it without Nader, and plans to try more-o'-the-same for 2004. Why waste time attacking Nader? Nader's been a real gem for as long as I can remember: we ought to be making peace with him.

And, by the way, Bush is such an unqualified disaster, I won't be casting any meaningless protest vote for Nader. But the day after the election, lots of us will continue to remember what Nader has said and fought for.

25. Since Bush will cheat as much as he can, we can't afford
Since Bush will cheat as much as he can, we can't afford liberal votes going to someone beside Kerry if we're going to not only win, but actually take the White House.

23. Yes, I believe there is not one, but two or maybe three that Nader
will step down for.

Anyone care to guess?

First choice for me is Perot, Nader mentioned him and his book recently. Then you have David Cobb. Number three,..... I'm at a loss..........

But yes, Nader would step down if a viable, true candidate stepped up.

I do not believe Nader would run against Dennis Kucinich.
