See what he hears about it. So far, my brother thinks it might be a smear campaign started by the Comptroller of Accounts' (Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn) office.

I'm really tired of waiting for this story to break also. I wish someone would find the proof and jump on it.

5. I think this story will break...

I've heard the info from a legislative official that is well connected. My pastor has also heard it (a fine theological liberal hero who would not report unless he had a superior source and not God, by the way). There was a photo op of Anita and her spouse in the Austin American Statesman on Sunday, but I think it was only a photo op. And now he's on vacation?

7. Geoffrey Had an Emergency Appendectomy Last Week

Worked late last Tuesday and fell ill that night, right around when the rumor was hot. Sorta like NIXON's phebitis attack when Watergate was overheating. But would Scotty McCLELLAN's mom, Carole KEETON McCLELLAN RYLANDER STRAYHORN-GONZALEZ-MARTINEZ-BUSTAMANTE (O.K., the last three names were for her panderting to the Hispanic vote), DO such a thing as start a rumor like that?

There have been some posts around here about Gay demonstrators showing "support" for PERRY by picketing the Governor's mansion with signs of support and asking him to come Out. Pictures of THAT legitimate news story would be one way for the big media to cover it.

Secretary of state undergoes emergency appendectomy

AUSTIN - Secretary of State Geoffrey Connor was released from an Austin hospital on Friday following an emergency appendectomy surgery, a spokeswoman said.

Connor, 40, was recovering at home Friday and planned to return to work Monday, spokeswoman Jennifer Waisath said. There were no complications, she said. ....

Connor worked late Tuesday night to monitor vote tabulations in the special elections for Senate districts 1 and 31. He started feeling sick that night and went to Seton Hospital on Wednesday evening, Waisath said.

Connor was appointed by Gov. Rick Perry in August. He was assistant secretary of state for three years before then. ....

12. I'm still hearing from TX Dems

that it is "unlikely" that it will hit the news if it hasn't already and that Anita will not file until after November. And, it will be "no fault" with a big settlement.

They had great hopes last week but still thought it would be "managed"---btw, Rick and Anita went to the Bahamas with Grover Norquist

But, best of all: EVERYONE is tagging this as a product of the Strayhorn camp. No one is *denying* that there is something to it, just that Strayhorn wants to be Governor and she is, as her ads said: "one tough grandma" Don't mess with the much married Comptroller!
