.....but NO GUARANTEE that your vote will be counted as cast. :evilfrown:
Most absentee ballots are of the 'optical scan' variety. Optical scan ballots are, more often than not, counted on an electronic ballot reader and the results tabulated using the same 'GEMS' (Global Election Management System) software that is so easily 'hackable' and has resulted in so many problems in previous elections. Providing evidence of your 'original intent' via a paper ballot is a start but it is useless if the laws in your state prohibit the ballots from being counted by hand in a recount. Such is the case in Georgia where it has been made illegal for anyone to look at the ballots!
Worse yet, in many if not most states, a recount can only be done under the tightest of close outcomes, say 1% or 2%.
It's important for every concerned citizen to make themselves aware of the laws governing elections in their state and get involved in their local elections.
If you don't demand what you want from your local (county and state) elections representatives, they'll give you what they want. And nobody wants that except them!
Let them know that if they're too lazy to count the votes, WE WILL! :)
Edited 'cause eye kan't speel.
