Lucrative Deals for a Daughter of Republican - Los Angeles Times - Article - 2004-02-20
''Karen Weldon, an inexperienced 29-year-old lobbyist from suburban Philadelphia, seemed an unlikely choice for clients seeking global public relations services.''

''Yet her tiny firm was selected last year for a plum $240,000 contract to promote the good works of a wealthy Serbian family that had been linked to accused war criminal Slobodan Milosevic.''

''Despite a lack of professional credentials, she had one notable asset — her father, U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), who is a leading voice in Washington on former Eastern Bloc affairs.''

2. appalling
Public relations firms do not in any way, shape or form get contracts this size and on such a regular basis. This is nothing more than a thinly disguised business veneer to funnel money into the congressman's greedy fingers. He's using his daughter as a hooker!

This is going to generate more than a few LTTE from me. Who would be the appropriate Democrats to write to urge an investigation? Waxman? Who? I'll write the letters if I can get some leads on where to go with this.

I'm simmering. This b*&sh*t crap has got to go.

Cher

4. Remember in the good ole days when they just set their daughters
up in travel agencies? Since the tax loopholes were closed up, they're diversifying into political and religious organizations where they can really funnel money without raising too many questions.
