Can Finneran be removed in some way?
Edited on Wed Feb-11-04 07:00 PM by ButterflyBlood
from what I hear this jerk is the one who tried to pass the amendment to the Mass Constitution overturning the court decision, and the true most powerful person in the state. he's to the right of all pre-Romney Republican governors, and thus basically this overwhelmingly liberal and Democratic state is stuck with a DINO running everything.

Can anyone in his district beat him in the primaries? I imagine a Republican can't win there, even though in this case a Republican would actually be an improvement (even if it was a far right neocon fundie the legislature would still be solidly Democratic and someone better would be in charge) Or could someone challenge him for House Speaker and win? It sounds as if the state would be far better off with a real progressive in charge.

1. I think he is up right now
I was JUST thinking he needs to be kicked out of the party. I would take 100 Liebermans over him.

2. the Zell Miller of Massachusetts
what worries me if the Mass. legislature requires Romney to appoint a Democrat to Kerry's Senate seat, he'd probably be it.

3. Nope
He owns his district solidly.

There was a proposition last year that would tell house members to vote against his speakership, but it was nonbinding and I don't think would have worked if it was.

He is the Prime Minister of Massachusetts, in effect.
