Who was the Treasury official that Dubya had an affair with?
I have to appologise because I should know, it was a topic of conversation on the Guy James Show yesterday (with Al Martin), but unfortunately I've forgotten.

Apparently this is a well known affair within the DC crowd. The affair occured then when it ended badly he had the IRS really nail her. This would be during Poppy's administration and after he was "born again"...

The old, "Have sex the famous guy and then get really taken by the IRS once it ends badly", if you get my drift.

1. Wow, never heard about this one. I was wondering who the fool with the
extremely bad taste was that had the affair with Poppy. The one that Babs have never gotten over to this day.

6. Jennifer Fitzgerald was G H W Bush's travel secretary - he started screwi
ng her in the 70's, in the early 80's he had a car accident while she was doing her thing - the incident pissed off Ron Reagan and wife as they felt they had to pull strings so it never happened - but then Nancy Reagan goes and tells the story to Kitty Krlly and she publishes it in her book (this is also a source for the data on Ron Reagan's rape of Seleena Walters in the early 50's - if you need more than the interview with Seleena that People Mag published in 92).

When I left DC in 87 Bush was still going over to her place on K Street to get his loving.

9. I used to visit my mom down in DC in the late '80s
I remember my mom's friend telling me the story at the time. She knew the woman and she knew where she lived. It was common knowledge there, in political circles. Mom's friend was a professional activist in women's issues.

13. Yep, there are those
repuke "family values" in action again! And why don't we ever hear about this and other similar examples (God knows, there are more than enough of them, Newt Gingrich, for starters), especially from the media whores who are so quick to jump on any indiscretion of the Dems? I'm SOOOOO tired of this bullshit double standard!

7. Could this be her?
I don't know anything about the site. The name of the woman is common knowledge - Jennifer Fitzgerald. The affair was also common knowledge in DC at the time. But it's okay if you're a republican.

http://www.tylwythteg.com/enemies/Bush/bush15.html

Susan B. Trento, author of The Powerhouse and a former staff member for a Republican congressman, wrote that conservatives in the late '80s believed that, "if Bush were going to become a viable Presidential candidate in 1988, certain problems had to be addressed.

"First, Bush's longtime companion and powerful staff member, Jennifer Fitzgerald, had to be removed from the White House and Bush's sexual indiscretions had to be covered up, if he ever hoped to be President."

Fitzgerald, had become the deputy chief of protocol for the State Department, during the 1992 campaign. Author Trento said that Louis Fields, a former ambassador to disarmament talks in Geneva, Switzerland, had told her in a 1984 interview that "he had made arrangements for George Bush and Jennifer Fitzgerald to use a guest house in Geneva while they visited."

Trento quotes Fields as saying, "It became clear to me that the Vice President and Ms. Fitzgerald were romantically involved and this was not a business visit."

14. OMG! Funny.
Why is she even putting lipstick on? I wonder what she looks like when she wakes up in the morning, if this is her best?

And by the way, it's not the physical looks. It's her meanness, her vicious behaviour that have made her as ugly as she is today. She was actually quite a beautiful young woman a long time ago.

Looks like money can't buy everything, can it Babs?

Treasury official - I must have been in the wrong bars next to the White House!

:-)

W's only gossip was the 15 year he got pregnant when he was in his twenties. and then arranged for and paid for her abortion - indeed later getting a CIA fellow to marry her - and while her friends will talk about this, she will not - she thinks W is just the greatest!

The going to Mexican happy houses that used children gossip about W in the late 60's has always seemed made up.

But doing Community service for a charge no one will discuss in 70 is a fun bar topic. As is the drugs while flying and the report by that fellow at his airbase that W - when asked about crashing a TANG jet in those days - responded "prove it" - rather than denying the event happened. As is the two DUI that were removed from his driving record when he had the state issue him a virgin driving license (I believe W is still the only person in Texas to be issued a virgin replacement license that had no record of his past record! - it helps to be a Bush). But that is all gossip until the media gets interested - and like Laura's killing her boy friend when she hit him after running a stop sign - and then somehow becoming the only Texas teenage killer driver that was NOT tested for alcohol - they are all stories that the GOP editors will tell their staff "do not have legs - or "there is not enough proof and we only report court decisions, not gossip".

16. It's hardly "breaking". Apparently it's an old story.
It's also apparently been snuffed out. Wouldn't want to chop down a good Christian tree now, would we?

17. Well there are all the w & Bo Derek stories from the 88 Cali primary too
But we never saw those in the mainstream, or did we? that would have been AFTER all his youthful indiscretions through age 40 and his miraculous conversion to a sober christian life.

Any body have links to the w and Bo Derek affair stories from 1988?

Combine that with the treasury official and Junior was having a lot of wandering zipper duty in 88.
