F911 making GOP nervous....
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 12:58 PM by Skinner
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Republicans initially dismissed ``Fahrenheit 9/11'' as a cinematic screed that would play mostly to inveterate Bush bashers. Four weeks and $94 million later, the film is still pulling in moviegoers at 2,000 theaters around the country, making Republicans nervous as it settles into the American mainstream.

``I'm not sure if it moves voters,'' GOP consultant Scott Reed said, ``but if it moves 3 or 4 percent it's been a success.''

Two senior Republicans closely tied to the White House said the movie from director Michael Moore is seen as a political headache because it has reached beyond the Democratic base. Independents and GOP-leaning voters are likely to be found sitting beside those set to revel in its depiction of a clueless president with questionable ties to the oil industry.

`If you are a naive, uncommitted voter and wander into a theater, you aren't going to come away with a good impression of the president,'' Republican operative Joe Gaylord said. ``It's a problem only if a lot of people see it.''

1. I take back
anything negative I may have ever said about Michael Moore. This film has completely exceeded all expectations!

2. F9/11 isn't ONE-SIDED-
it's "OTHER-SIDED"; that's what the Nazi repukes can't stand!

3. Scott Campbell
age nineteen thought "it was one-sided". He is prime draft age. If he is upset about the one-sideness of a movie, he's really going to hate boot camp.

4. I'll laugh my ass off...
...if there is an exit poll after the election where people say that F9/11 swayed their thinking toward Bush significantly enough to vote for John Kerry. I'd love to hear the results, and if it's favorable the left deserves to drop to their knees and kiss Moore's feet. ;)

5. We can all feel sorry for PNAC and the WH-cabal (with irony). Consider
the pressure they must be under by the Saudis who have probably been pressuring them to stop the movie. The Saudis probably don't understand why it jut can't be pulled.

From piled on war for a few to election theft to House of Bush and House of Saud - there isn't one thing good for them.

7. ... as it should
Especially when it involves the footage that the Repukes would wish the American population would forget.

A good comeback for a dittohead who says "F9/11 is full of lies" would be to say "Yes, there's a lot of footage of this administration talking, isn't there?"
