Everything is on the Table (Say what?)
I'm getting sick that everything is on the table when it comes
to cutting the budget deficit.

Obama has already said that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are all on the table.
Today, Sec. Of Defense Leon Panetta said that Veterans pension and benefits are on the table.
Obama said that public employees unions are going to have to experience "shared sacrifice and burden sharing" when it comes to cutting the cost of government.

Who's next? What sector will be told that they have to "... share the sacrifice ..."?

The only thing off the table was impeachment and that has nothing to do with cutting the budget.

When are the republicans going to put anything on the table?

1. Everything but the military.
Wait and see. They will not cut the military, they'll RAISE the military budget.

2. You are correct, Sir....and everyhting should NOT be "on the table".
What we have to look forward to in '12 it seems,

is a long, relatively meaningless fight between a sell-out, corporate "Democrat"

and even more "sold out" corporatist repukes.

I can hardly wait.:eyes:

3. FYI, here is how a real negotiation goes. (From JoePhilly.)
Party A: Will you trade me X?

Party B: What would you give me for X?

Party A: I'd give you Y.

Party B: Y, that's all? No.

Party A: Ok, how about Y and Z. That's a good deal.

Party B: Y and Z ... humm ... no, not nearly enough for X.

Party A: Ok, well that's all I'm willing to give you for X.

Party B: Ok, well, then I'm not giving you X.

Got it?

D&O: OK, how about X+1000 & Z for Y?

Rep: We'll take X+1000 & Z but no Y

D&O: Deal

7. Yep,
Edited on Tue Aug-16-11 09:35 PM by dgibby
but if one of the parties gives A-Z, including B before the negations begin, it doesn't work so well.

5. Except tax increases on the rich
and on corporations, and reining in the military industrial complex. But by all means, screw the working class and the poor.

8. When is CONGRESS going to put something on the table?
These people have perks and benes coming out of their asses -- why shouldn't they take a financial hit? Cut their pay -- take away the leased vehicles and the gas allowances. Claw back pensions.

Chop from the TOP first.
