ALEC Sen. Ron Johnson is only concerned about the markets, and not the working people.
He blames the President for no written plan.... It's not clear in this interview if his plan" Cut, Cap, and balance" has already been written by ALEC, but he is pushing it...

6. Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, John Boehner was a member of the notorious ALEC
Edited on Sun Jul-24-11 07:07 PM by midnight
back in the 80's when this agenda was developed and put into operation...or that House Majority Leader Cantor was a 2009 recipient of ALEC's "prestigious" Jefferson award! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/28/960659/-BoehnerCantor-expose-their-ties-to-ALEC,-Koch,-CCA,-Geo-in-09-ALEC-speeches!

ALEC provides "model bills" to state legislatures, all of which are previously seen by ALEC's corporate board. These model bills are aimed at taking the teeth out of government regulation, giving lavish tax breaks to the wealthy, and using the resulting budget deficits to privatize institutions like schools and prisons. These bills are introduced in multiple statehouses with no required disclosure about an outside group of corporate lobbyists originally crafting the legislation. Some of ALEC's notable alumni include Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Governor Scott Walker.

5. My initial outrage over Johnson's concern with markets over people appears to be Republican plan
to force their way....with a short term debt ceiling increase...

"It was John Boehner who invoked the spectre of the “Asian markets” by saying that he would deliver a framework deal on how to increase the debt limit by Sunday night. Once you do that, there’s nowhere else to go. If no announcement is made, the Asian markets will most certainly react negatively. If the announcement is seen as unworkable or inadequate, they’ll drop too. This creates rather than arrests a crisis.

And it appears that Boehner’s gambit is to call President Obama’s bluff on a short-term debt limit increase. This was really the only option available to Republicans to avoid the entire blame for default."
