Alabama Pilot flies over the Gulf...Disaster is Worse than BP Admits...Worth a Watch!
Edited on Tue May-11-10 08:28 PM by KoKo
His commentary is the view of his personal experience as a "River Keeper." There are groups of "River Keepers" all over the South..following in the tradition of Pete Seeger with his clean up of the Hudson River in NY.

His personal "Fly Over," and what he saw here:

1. except for his dialog - government's fault, have to have gasoline etc etc
cuz we don't need more gasoline, we need more alternatives now. I know, let's let out more offshore drilling contracts/leases!

6. Lobbyists are to blame, senators easily bought,
we need campaign finance reform. Corporate Oil giants owned by foreign investors who don't give a damn leasing our land, our seas, Haliburton. No president can fix this coming depression caused by corporate greed. The poor, and they are in great numbers in the south, will eat these tainted sea foods, and deformities and cancers will spiral. There is no hope. Instead of blowing it up, they let it gush to save the well, to save the oil.BP has killed millions of Americans, they just have not yet died.

7. Lobbyists were doing what they are supposed to do. Were the politicians? Lay the blame where it
belongs. If the politicians were not doing their jobs, were they reelected?

We got guys who voted to deregulate banks, pass nafta, give the rich a Trillion dollar tax cut while increasing deficit spending, authorize a war of aggression, limit oil company liabilities, and allow the reckless lack of positive well shutdown technology required of Brazil and the North Sea, AND THEY ARE STILL RUNNING FOR REELECTION.

We deserve the government we have. We had some warnings from Ben Franklin.
