California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a moderate Republican whose state is facing a multibillion-dollar shortfall, disagreed. "Anyone who says (the stimulus) hasn't created a job, they should talk to the 150,000 people who have gotten jobs in California," he said on ABC's This Week.

"I find it interesting," Schwarzenegger added, "that you have a lot of the Republicans running around and pushing back on the stimulus money and saying this doesn't create any new jobs, and then they go out and they do the photo ops, and they are posing with the big check."

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, a Republican, acknowledged the stimulus law had saved government jobs, but he said on Fox News Sunday that it created few private sector positions in his state or elsewhere.

Earlier this month, however, Barbour's take was slightly different in a news release touting his state's receipt of $20 million in stimulus funds to help pay for railroad improvements from the Port of Gulfport to Hattiesburg. The news release called the project "a major step for the Mississippi economy." Barbour could not be reached Sunday.

Of course, the Republican chant that the Stimulus didn't save/create private sector jobs is a unaldulterated, astounding bullshit.

Every dollar spent on infrastructure went to private sector contractors to build bridges, highways, sewerage improvements etc. Also, dollars that kept public sector employees (policement, firemen, teachers) employed were spent and contributed to demand which kept private sector employees employed in retail, services, and manufacturing jobs.

If it wasn't for the television M$M shills, lending credence to Republican bullshit, their lies wouldn't get any traction at all! M$M keeps repeating this crap like it's legitimate.

And they wonder why they are losing viewers so fast to the internet. People are sick of propaganda and are looking for legitimate information!
