Maybe If We Ignore Them
Maybe If We Ignore Them
By David Glenn Cox

Ho, ho, ho, Joe Biden got the best of Dick Cheney in a carefully orchestrated and choreographed pecker-bumping contest. I don’t give a fat rat's ass what Dick Cheney says or does, and if this administration thinks it does or says it does they need only to get the Justice Department busy, then ho,ho,ho throw the book at his ass. Now that’s funny! You remember that, don’t you? Justice?

Instead the administration, through the Justice Department, has sided with the past administration and with their misdeeds. So until this administration changes its tune it needs to leave the crotch grabbing to Michael Jackson. The same goes double for Sarah Palin; she is no more news worthy than Paris Hilton, but we get every excruciating detail because it beats the hell out of reporting the news. Who said retard and who said retard first? Who said retard and in what context? It’s all a part of the Grand Delusion by the American media.

“At least 12 Afghan civilians have been killed during a major military offensive in the south of the country," a NATO-led military force said.

At least 12? Could they not count the bodies? Or perhaps there wasn’t enough left of them to count. But you know what, out of the goodness of his heart the NATO general will apologize. Isn’t that good enough for them?

"Two rockets from a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System launched at insurgents firing upon Afghan and Isaf forces impacted approximately 300 meters off their intended target, killing 12 civilians in Nad Ali district, the International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) said in a statement.”

Wouldn’t that be good enough for you? Say a rocket hits your home and kills your entire family, they think, guestimating by the grease spots. "Sorry, it was an accident," isn’t good enough?

Yet the media plays this off like it was a traffic accident.

Here’s a good story for the headlines, “As many as Eight Million children, or 10% of the child population, will be affected by foreclosure." In one California kindergarten ten students dropped out of a class during the school year. So many that school officials went door to door looking for them and what they discovered were boarded-up houses and shattered lives.

Children, whether in Afghanistan or in California, need a stable base to grow up on. Fearing the skies or fearing the mailbox are no different. Men from the bank or from NATO rob children of their security. Not knowing what’s to become of them and sleeping in shelters or basements teaches them that the world is a mean and ugly place. That people are not to be trusted, so you better do unto them before they do unto you.

But that story for the media is down the road. That’s a 2021 story, “Why Are Today’s Youth So Violent?” Well, the answer is that you did it to them first, and you didn’t even say that you were sorry.

Yesterday’s Sacramento Bee had a story that told the tale, “Region's shuttered stores tell a thousand stories.” http://www.sacbee.com/topstories/story/2536025.html

Almost 10,000 empty addresses, one in six businesses closed. It follows that the city and county tax revenues fall. This leaves the city and counties to cut services and eliminate employees. Who in turn stop shopping at local stores as the economy takes one more circle around the drain.

That’s three thousand miles from where I live but the story is just the same. Empty shopping centers with banner “For Rent” signs which are starting to age and weather, and the only new business in the area is We Buy Gold. The family cafeteria restaurant has started closing on Sunday. I remember a time when Sunday was a big day in the restaurant business.

I guess it’s only news in the local newspaper or more people might start to pick up on the President’s plan to freeze government spending. Government spending accounts for 30% of GDP and freezing it almost guarantees more business failures. Which means higher unemployment, which means more home foreclosures, lower property values, lower tax revenues, higher divorce rates and more broken children.

“If we can boondoggle ourselves out of this depression, that word is going to be enshrined in the hearts of the American people for years to come.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Instead we get Vice Presidential pecker bumping.

“SHOOTS CLERK DEAD FOR A DOLLAR BILL,” New York Times

We have a crime wave of senseless proportions, murders, murder-suicides, robberies, and bank robberies. We have a generation of young parents who are trying to raise their children in this economic shit storm and the media doesn’t care. We get the bullshit news, the feel good news and the non-news.

“General Sorry for Killing Civilians”

The media’s role in society is to keep us informed and it is obvious that they have abdicated that role. Today their role is to misinform us. To fill us full of goat turds about petty fights between erstwhile pro-wrestlers while ignoring the true news, that our streets are full of homeless and our jails are full of Iraq and Afghan war veterans. Maybe if we ignore them they’ll go away.

“Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt

2. The news...
...is an inside joke among the rulers of the planet. They control what is reported...what makes the headlines. And the real message, the message that is drummed into our heads is: Buy. Buy this, buy that. Buy everything, that way the rich get their nickle from every Tom, Dick and Harry.

It isn't news, it is a medium used to get people to buy their crap.

3. I see stores shuttered everywhere

The economy is not recovering, no matter how or who from the administration spins it.

4. Here's to hoping kindness prevails.
Though justice, equally delivered is the clearest path to seeing that through. The former administration must face charges if the intent of our design is to hold true. Such a willing disregard for the well being of a planetary public can and should not be allowed to occur and not answered for.

The degradation we see around us is not something the marketing megaphone we call a press core can hide in quickie image bits before bringing you the latest from la la land.

Our nation's pursuit of military global dominance speaks to me of the most cowardly mindset, which wicked Dickie personifies. I can't say more about this real life human monster without my blood blowing right past simmer to full on boil.

We, as a race, and a collection of communities, need to assert a reinvention of more localized economies as it is clear the corporatocracy will leave us the second they think they've squeezed us sponge dry.

They are the equivalent of a falling anchor in water too deep. We cut them loose and brave the waters, or we sink.

Wasn't that a long winded way to say k and r?
