FAITH MEETS REALITY, AND REALITY LOSES

If John Kerry gets elected, we'll remain stuck in Iraq without a clear exit strategy, we'll have half-trillion dollar federal deficits without a coherent strategy to deal with them, we'll have a planet racing toward environmental meltdown, and we'll be rushing into another recession thanks to high oil prices, higher interest rates, a weak dollar and a low-wage, slow job-growth economy.

If President George Bush gets elected, we get all the above and then some.

A choice between horrible and catastrophic isn't exactly one that inspires people to run to the polls in November. But that's what we're stuck with - a depressing choice between varying degrees of bad.

snip...
In other words, there are still enough Americans willing to give another four years to a President who, in the words of commentator Peter Lee, is "more incompetent than Harding, more dishonest than Nixon and stupider than Reagan."

snip...
Or maybe this isn't denial at all. There are more than 70 million evangelical Christians in America. These are the folks, of which President Bush is one, who supposedly take every word of the Bible as the literal and unerring word of God. These are the folks who put President Bush into office. According to Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention, two-thirds of those who went to church, any church, at least once a week voted for the President in 2000

2. the lesser of two evils
if that is your ploy - GIVE IT UP YOU IDIOT - we all have to eventually put our faith in something/somebody and Alfred E. Bush has already shown us that he is both incompetent for the leadership of OUR country, but also incapable of not doing anything else but trashing almost everything we used to - and still should be - standing for in OUR country and in the world at large

3. How'd I hit a Democraticunderground.com link
and end up in freeperville???

That entire bash on Kerry is based on ignorance and/or political motivation. If you'd take the time to read Kerry's platform statements you'd recognize the writers diatribe for the load of crap it is.

6. on edit - unsubstantiated Kerry bashing

Obviously no good freeper would have anything bad to say about W, but the bash on Kerry sounds like it was written by W's publicist.

5. No kidding
I swear if I read about one more person whining about how Kerry is nothing but Bush-lite or he won't pull our troops out immediately...

Get it through your heads people, we're stuck in this Iraq mess one way or another. We can't just cut and run. If we do a good portion of the world's oil supplies WILL fall into the hands of terrorists NOT good Iraqi citizens. Do you know what THAT would lead to?

No our only hope is that Kerry makes good with the promise of getting UN involvement and announcing that the dangerous policies of the Bush admin are over, and that we're ready to rejoin the world and clean this mess up together.

Believe me the world will agree to for one simple reason as I've said on here a million times: MONEY. Lots of money to be had in Iraq. Kerry will invite other nations to join in the clean up in exchange for stakes in Iraq.

Sounds sleazy but hey live with it, it's the real world and it's a FAR better plan than Bush's "hey bring it on baby it ain't mah money or sons doin the fightin"

7. If kerry gets elected, the UN
and NATO are more likely to come board to help out in Iraq. Big difference to the current situation.
