Why the Public Option is a MUST with insurance company subsidies.
The Public Option is NO OPTION for the health care reform bill.

IF they mandate that everyone must get insurance AND prohibit insurance companies from using pre-existing conditions as a way of avoiding paying for covered procedures this will mean the insurance companies will save a good portion of their administrative costs because they won't need the people to investigate and find "preexisting conditions" to avoid paying for covered procedures. We may subsidize the cost of the covered procedures but NOT the costs previously incurred to find "pre-existing" conditions.

The only way we can put the insurance companies feet to the fire and cut that costs is to have a Public Option to compete with them and force them to NOT fold the formerly incurred costs into their profits.

(Their will be more saved in time, as hospitals and doctors will be spending less time fighting with insurance companies over payment for covered procedures. They too will find they will be incurring less administrative costs.)
