BR lawmaker claims retaliation by Jindal

A Baton Rouge lawmaker claimed Monday that Gov. Bobby Jindal retaliated against her by slashing funding for the Louisiana Art and Science Museum downtown.

“It’s all about the fact that there were certain bills that I didn’t follow for the governor,” said state Rep. Pat Smith, the Baton Rouge Democrat who was handling the funding request.

Smith noted she opposed Senate Bill 278, a Jindal-backed measure that would shield documents the governor uses in the deliberative process from public record as well as communications among his top staff.

1. Jindal's a putz, granted. But she seriously needs to do some self-reflection.

This was, hands down, THE most UNproductive and useless legislative session in the history of Louisiana. And the legislators (Ms. Smith included) were engaged in so much retaliation and petty nonsense amongst themselves that absolutely nothing was accomplished.

Was Jindal's slash a retaliation? Perhaps- It certainly wouldn't shock me. But Pat Smith is the pot calling the kettle black.
