Christopher Buckley Resigns from the National Review
Christopher Buckley, a conservative and very funny writer, endorsed Barack Obama last week, and this week, because of all the letters from rabid National Review readers, he has offered his resignation. The magazine, once filled with integrity, even if conservative, accepted the resignation, evidently without a second thought.

1. Rats jumping ship. He should stay and reap what he has helped sow over the
years.

He's hoping to get work as a "reformed" conservative. You know, the kind that has more integrity then the other Bush rats. I hope he has a difficult time finding a credible work place and is relegated to opining over at Fox Business Channel. That's where he belongs.

5. He's never been like the worst of them
On the left we should respect reasoned opinion from the right, and Buckley is just that. He's also endorsed Obama

8. Where has he been all these years? Where was he after all these
unnecessary deaths in Iraq. Where was he on torture? Now he finds his soul? I don't think so. He knows which way the wind is blowing and it's blowing the republican brand right into the trash heap where it belongs. He helped trumpet this craziness for years and after he sucked the republican teat dry, he's gonna ask for penance by endorsing Obama? How easily swayed you are. He helped with the destruction of this country and he will have to do a lot more then endorse Obama to garner any sympathy from. Til then I hope he's happy with the reaction he's helped cultivate with this me versus you attitude the republicans hang their hat on.

Let me say it again, this isn't about integrity or finally seeing the light for him - he had plenty of time for that. This is all about self preservation. Period. He certainly will not get any sympathy from me whatsoever.

Here's a nice little roundup of the republican turncoats who are finding religion, so to speak:

9. Thanks
Good article. some bitterness there, too. Philosophically, I'd rather win these people over than keep them as enemies. But I understand the other sentiment very well.
