Michigan Strikes Back at McCain, McCain to Leave Penn Next?
McCain betrays Michigan voters by pulling his people and advertising from the state, and the people there are angry. Now the speculation is that Pennsylvania is next, though I’d say McCain’s petulent and insulting performance in front of the DeMoines Register Editorial Board signals that he’ll be abandoning Iowa next. What’s your guess?

3. He'll leave the Philly area first
Or maybe he'll leave Iowa first? Florida?

4. PA?
I don't believe that. If they can steal the election anywhere, it'll be in Pennsylvania, my home Commonwealth. McCain wouldn't pull out of PA.

Would he?

6. The latest polls
would show he hasn't much chance here. If that is his criteria, leaving states where he has no chance, then he'll be leaving Pa soon.

8. That would really be the death knell for him, though,
don't you think?

It's an expensive state, PA, but an important one.

What an image that would make - pulling out of two big states because he doesn't believe he can win them.

Can you say "loser"?

10. With Michigan
we may already have seen the death knell. He's diverting funds to Maine, for Christ sake. He's going to try to fight for those electoral votes?

Keep in mind, though, the GOP still has plenty of funds, and the GOP 527s will start up in a week or so. This baby is not over until the fat lady in North Carolina loses.

11. True
But the image it gives is shocking. And Maine? Oh, I would be very surprised if the Republicans do well in Maine (yeah, I lived there, too).

It's one month and one day to Election Day. I have my ballot sitting right here. Remember that old Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times?

Yeah, well, here we are.

And, Stingo, welcome to DU!!!

16. Thank you for the invitation
I used to live in Philadelphia. Went to Temple and Penn. Got kicked out of both of them.

<curtsey>

People have no idea what a great city it is. I still love Philadelphia, and now that I know I have a drinking buddy there, well, it just became even more special.....................

7. Leave Ohio first!
and take your gawdawful campaign HQ - conspicuously occupying one of the busiest intersections - out of my town! They purchased a bright LED sign - about 3' x 5' - and nobody is creative enough to program anything more complicated than alternating flashes of 'McCain' and 'Palin'.

9. OK, leaving Ohio is fine
Maybe he should send everyone to Nevada and get his campaign to play with him at the craps table or something.

Certainly not outside the big cities. Check out the western and northern parts of the state.

I suspect McCain should concentrate on Arizona and alaska to guarantee he wins a couple states next month.
