India's political impasse deepens
Source: BBC News

Political uncertainty has deepened in India with the communist allies of the government hardening their stance against the nuclear deal with the US.

The communists say the deal, under which India gets access to civilian nuclear technology and fuel, gives the US leverage on India's foreign policy.

Other allies have backed the agreement amid fears that communists may withdraw support for the government.

This is one of the worst crises facing India's Congress-led government.

1. Only the left parties consistently defend India's independence.
Congress has died as a progressive force in India. BJP is fascist.

2. The left parties are fools and stooges
of China.

China is not happy with the nuclear deal because it hampers its hegemony in Asia. China then pulls its puppets' strings to make the deal not go forward which is in the best interests of India.

The left wing parties in India have always been a stumbling block, hurting the very people they are pretending to help.

Without the deal, India will be hostage to the oil for power generation and will not be able to expand its economy to help the poor.

4. No. I am personally familiar with Indian politics
The real progressive party in India is the congress party which instituted some of the best reforms throughout history such as land reforms, union strengthening micro-lending etc. and that party is currently in power.

The so called left wing parties are Chinese proxies and always have been. They have made a mess of the state of West Bengal.

5. I"m worried about the stooges of the real threat to India (and China).
The BJP and Congress have favored an antagonistic anti-China policy. Congress did this first to serve their Soviet patrons and now they do it to please their American friends.

China and India should cooperate in international affairs to help build up a counterbalance to the real strategic threat. Who is waging war in the world? Who rings the world with military bases? Who occupies foreign lands halfway around the globe? Hint: it's not China.

CPI(M) and its allies instituted land reform in West Bengal, by the way.

6. Please read this
India and China cannot be friends ... they have too many conflicts of interest.

7. Nothing too substantial there.
And the parties who were actually pro-China, the Naxalites, were suppressed by CPI(M). The CPI(Maoist) is actually waging war against the governments of the CPI(M). The latter was never particularly "pro-China," except it does not share the reflexive fear of China shared across India's political spectrum.
