Forget Apple, Disney, Inc. Wants Steve Jobs

One of the longest running rumors in the Mac world is the one about Disney buying Apple. Such a buyout has been imminent for about three or four years now, and it crops up often enough to almost warrant a Disney Buyout Counter similar to our Apple Death Knell Counter, but today we have a brand new twist. New York tabloid the New York Post has published a piece saying that Steve Jobs himself may be being targeted as a successor for embattled Disney CEO, Michael Eisner.

Yes, that's the same Michael Eisner who reportedly referred to Steve Jobs as a "Shiite Muslim" in a characterization of Mr. Jobs having "extreme views.

1. I would think that the Disney board may want Jobs for the job!!
after all, Disney made a ton of money off of Pixar's movie "Finding Nemo", with the help of Pixar's Apple connection. Eisner needs to go, he has screwed up Disney so much, they need to boot him out.

2. Yeah... but...
Jobs hardly has anything to do with Pixar's success. He practically ignored them for 10 years while he was focusing on Apple and Next. When they finally became successful, he popped in to grab the the glory.

The real geniuses at Pixar are John Lasseter, Ed Catmull, Andrew Satanton, Pete Docter who have been there since the 80's, plus all the other artists who joined since then.

The reason Pixar is successful is because the artists run the place. At Disney, there's more managers than artists.
